Some grapefruit and lots of florals. Golden pour with good head and carpet lacing. Bitter finish with some booze. Tap at Sharp Edge. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 6, 2015
Hoppy Belgian beer that is nice to be brewed for sharp edge but maybe it loses in the shipping. Kind of dull with bitter hops. Alengrin (5639) - BELGIUM - SEP 14, 2014
Commissioned by an American customer since 2008, an IPA-ish Belgian ale with off-white, sticky, thick head and golden blonde, slightly misty robe. Aroma of citrus peel, vanilla, peach, chamomille, flowers, green hops. Soft malty taste with restrained citrus freshness, powerful leafy and grassy, long, complex, green hop bitterness in the end, some warming alcohol. See, Van Steenberge is capable of making really interesting beers after all! Why don’t they put this kind of quality on the Belgian market? shigadeyo (3766) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 26, 2014
7/23/2014: Over The Edge Belgian IPA... Turbid golden color with a head of thick white foam. This beer seems pretty typical and meh. It’s got all the typical Belgian esters, spice, and yeast with plenty of alcohol (tastes like a bit too much), but it’s just not existing. I also found it to be too sweet for the amount of doughiness in the flavor. There is hoppiness, but it’s fairly nondescript. I don’t really want subtle hops in an IPA. Anyway, this beer was also just too chewy and heavy on the tongue. Maybe describing this as a Belgian Tripel would have been better, but it was just too dirty, heavy, and muddled for that. Overall, it is probably best enjoyed by using it to cook the mussels I had for dinner there. Draught at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse in Pittsburgh, PA. Rating #49 for this beer. baraciisch (3345) - California, USA - OCT 8, 2013
Rated from beer log during 2009 Belgium trip... Gentle hop aroma, not over the top like American IPAs, yellow orange in color... Sweet like a typical Belgian, but not overpowering, like a trippel but more bitter. The way an American ipa would be but better balanced... Candi sugar sweetness definitely makes it unique... A hopped up trippel, very good, nice bitter palate... Highly recommended

Clear golden to light orange beer, big irregular creamy head, stable, adhesive, nice lacing. Aroma: bit floral, pretty soapy, malst, grains, ripe sweet summer fruits, bit sugary, yeasty character (Van Steenberge yeast). MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of caramel, fudge, sweet malts, yeast, bitter dry hops. Aftertaste: some yoghurt, soapy, bitter hops, bit sugary, bread, bitter chemical ending.
Had on Draft @ The Sharp Edge Creekhouse in Pittsburgh,PA .. . last beer before jetting .. thick lacing .. quite a boozy brew .. . hard honey and a touch of yeast .. . long bothersome finish .. . has such a bite to it, good aftertaste though
.. . . note to self: must buy hand held tape recorder, then i will no longer be speaking into the garage door opener.. DiarmaidBHK (5692) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 29, 2012
Draft at sharp edge creek house. Pours golden with a thin white head with some yeastiness on the nose. Some pear and grape notes on the tongue with a slight hoppiness on the finish. Solid but not the best example of style. Travlr (25818) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - OCT 1, 2011
