Hops abound in this triple Belgian ale, brewed with three times the normal amount of pilsner-malt to build on plenty of raw rich material, and an 'over the edge' amount of Hallertau and Aurora hops. Just to make it perfect with a great hoppy nose, a full round complex mouth-feel and a lingering beautiful hoppy aftertaste, in perfect balance with the glow of the 9.5 % alcohol by volume. Refermented in the keg (keg conditioned) to infuse the softness and easy drinkability of the natural carbonation. Brewery Van Steenberge craftsmanship by excellence!

Draught @ ZBF 2009, St.-Niklaas, Belgium.
Clear medium to dark yellow color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate hoppy, citrus, citrus shell, medicine, urine-like. Flavor is moderate sweet, light acidic and heavy shell bitter with a long duration. Infected IMO. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090307]

Koelschtrinker (20398) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 3, 2011
Hopfig-säuerlicher Geruch. Hopfiger vollmundiger Antrunk, angenehm bitter. Der Hopfen bleibt sehr trocken, erst spät bildet sich eine wenig fruchtige Note, etwas nach Apfelsine. IM Abgang ebenfalls sehr hopfig, harmonisch. 12/12/11/11//11

MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAR 18, 2009
Draught at ZBF09. The aroma has some citrus, hint of spice. Cloudy orange colour. The flavour has Belgian yeast, hint of brett. Coriander, some old rag, a bit funky. OK pepper note in the finish. Typical van Steenberge quality.

thewolf (12595) - Kolding, DENMARK - MAR 11, 2009
Tap @ ZBF 2009.
Pours muddy yellow with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has oranges, light sweet maltiness. High carbonation, very dry mouthfeel. Nice flavour, much better than the limited aroma. The oranges and lemons mix well with the malts and there a fine, dry finish to it. Okay.

deyholla (11604) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 24, 2009
Bottle. Poured maize with an off-white head. Aroma had a bit of everything, malts (grain), hops (citrus and floral) and yeast and a bit of an underlying spice, perhaps cinnamon. Flavor began subdued with sweet hops and ended with a bitter citrus finish.

Fin (10541) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 10, 2009
Draught at Zythos Beer Festival, March 7th and 8th 09 Pours a clear lemony/light gold colour with an impressive whipped ice cream style head. Great hoppy nose and a good dose of yeast. Nice stinging bitterness which is soon calmed down by a lovely vein of sweetness rushing through. Great beer! A6 A4 F8 P4 OV16 3.8

JorisPPattyn (10001) - Ursel, BELGIUM - MAR 8, 2009
Draught Good, dense, yellowish head over clear yellow-orange beer. Alcohol, goose shit, bamboo shoots, sweet and V.S. yeast esters. Very bitter, ink-like taste, ending sweeter, with more yeast features. Well-bodied, well-carbonated. Long hoppy aftertaste. OK! the bitterness is there. PLEASE, now use to learn US-hops. Then you’ll get the real thing. I had a first taste before this one, where the beer was clearly infected, soursmelling. Second sample was perfectly OK - pipes?
