Hops abound in this triple Belgian ale, brewed with three times the normal amount of pilsner-malt to build on plenty of raw rich material, and an 'over the edge' amount of Hallertau and Aurora hops. Just to make it perfect with a great hoppy nose, a full round complex mouth-feel and a lingering beautiful hoppy aftertaste, in perfect balance with the glow of the 9.5 % alcohol by volume. Refermented in the keg (keg conditioned) to infuse the softness and easy drinkability of the natural carbonation. Brewery Van Steenberge craftsmanship by excellence!

House beer for Sharp Edge in Pittsburgh.

On draft at festival at Waregem. A very nice and tastefull beer with a good bitterness and alcohol touch. One of the best beers tasted over there

Oh ya, this stuff is good. Nice light golden color with a beautiful white head. Perfect balance of sweet and hops with a nice creamy mouthfeel. This is one of my favorites. Doesn’t do to well in a growler though, I’ve tried about 30 times and it never lasts more than 12 hours. Doesn’t really matter though it’s gone so fast.

On draft at the meeting room of the Van Steenberge brewery during the Zythos Forum Gathering 2008. To bad I didn’t have my notebook with me. This is what I remember: hazy blond beer with a nice creamy and lasting white head. Medium carbonation. With approximately 90 EBU (according the brewer) hops are obviously dominating aroma and flavor but not to one-dimensional. Medium bodied. The bitter aftertaste lasted for over an hour.

On tap last saturday @ Waregem 22 march. Hazy blond color, with a white creamy head. Aroma hops, hops, yeast. Medium body. Taste is sweet, full of hops, good bitterness. Alcholic warm mouthfeel and bitter aftertaste. Good.

A Mes rate: Draught at Brugge Fest.
Solid gold with a thick white head and superb condition. A good looking beer. Lovely floral hop aroma with some strong yet adorable notes of straw. Gloriously bitter and aromatic on the nose. Flavour... A Belgian double IPA. Whowouldathunkit??? Great hops, excellent malt base with just the right level of chewiness and some slight bacon but it’s gorgeous. Awesome bitter finish with a lovely lick of sweetness. Bloody glorious.

Draught at Brugge 2008. Attractive clear gold, lasting cream head. Creamy IPA. Slight bacon. Great hops. A bacon lager IPA. Belgian yeast which gives it fullness and character. Great tasty easy drinking beer. Cool.

I have had this several times on-tap at sharp edge but never found it on BA. This is actually a Belgian IPA much like Piraat. A-typical for a strong Belgian pale on-tap. mildly cloudy straw yellow body with a creamy white head. Head fades to a thick collar and leaves some lacing behind in the glass. S- floral hops, phenolic esters, and a mild fruitiness. T- flavor is much like the smell. Quite alcoholic with a nice hoppy (mostly floral) flavor and some sweet bready yeast. A mild fruitiness lies in the background. Finish is pretty dry P- low to medium carbonation and light body. Alcohol definitely detectable and overall impression is light and dry. O- this is a good beer but it is very boozy. I usually order this because its cheaper than everything else Belgian sharp edge has on tap. really a great beer to experience if you want a good Belgian IPA. On tap at Sharp Edge Beer Emporium in Pittsburgh. Pours a cloudy, orange colored body with an inch thick, very creamy and dense, white head that takes forever to dissipate and leaves loads of lacing. Gorgeous. Aroma is floral and malty with a pleasant, banana Belgian yeastiness, and a good amount of citrusy hops. Some coriander and pepper along with some fruity esters and a bit of candy bread. Flavor is soft and sweet with a good amount of spicy hops. Fairly sweet malts up front with a hint of bread. Lots of banana and Belgian yeast come in with a smooth coriander, pepper spice before plenty of dry hoppiness comes in. Some grass with a moderate bitterness and fairly sweet in the finish as this completely dries and leaves a lengthy aftertaste. Medium to full body and creamy with a very light feeling carbonation. Overall, a pretty cool beer. Lots of hops in a Belgian ale with a solid malty sweetness. Not a lot of carbonation and an almost full body add to the sweetness, but help balance the bitterness nicely. I like this a lot. Not bad at all and cool to have as this place’s house beer.

Draught at Zythos Beer Festival, March 7th and 8th 09 Pours a clear lemony/light gold colour with an impressive whipped ice cream style head. Great hoppy nose and a good dose of yeast. Nice stinging bitterness which is soon calmed down by a lovely vein of sweetness rushing through. Great beer! A6 A4 F8 P4 OV16 3.8
