From notes. Pour at Zwanze Day 2017 at Jolly Pumpkin on September 23. The pour is more of a chunky looking orange yellow with a thin ring of dense white head that falls away quickly without a trace. The aroma is really interesting. There is a tart funky saison right up front with a nice oak and wood that increases in depth. The yeastiness works really well and there is no spiciness, which I enjoy. The flavor is much of the same. The lack of spice is really nice with the yeast, and tart citric fruitiness. There is a good oak that lingers and adds complexty. The mouth feel is lighter and clean with a soft carbonation and a lingering funky yeast that balances this out at the end. This is pretty damn solid. 6 4 7 4 14 IPAMeister7 (51) - - SEP 10, 2017

Shelton 2017. Pours a hazy golden yellow with fluffy white head that dissipates slowly to leave moderate lace. Aroma of big funky brett notes, a hint of vanilla oaky must, and a nice citrus undertone. Taste follows, big flavor all around, with a nice soft balance and mouthfeel. Would love to taste a bottle with a bit of age on it, but tasty even how it is. tapefuzz (755) - Massachusetts, USA - JUL 31, 2017
500mL bottle. Pours hazy gold with a moderate white head. Aroma is oak, nectarine, funk, hay, and green grapes. Taste is citrus, oak, earth, funk, yeast, cheese, and some earth. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. The barrel-aging lends interesting sour/funk/oaky character to the beer although Farmhouse Pale Ale is a strong lightly funky beer in its own right - maybe even preferable. The sediment is what makes this beer - without it the palate is crisp and astringent and the taste isn’t as full. egajdzis (6692) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 21, 2017
UPDATED: JUL 24, 2017 Hazy golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Brett, wood, hay, earth, toast, vanilla, spices, sweeter finish.

(500ml March 2016 bottle from Mikkeller and Friends Bottleshop, Copenhagen) Rather a gusher. Pours slightly hazed medium gold with a big white head that fades to a ring with lace. Aroma of white grapes, quite tart white wine on the path to vinegar, lemon acidity, fruit skins, oak, herbal/floral hoppy notes, a decent helping of earthy, lightly sulphurous funk. Flavour is quite dry overall, slightly crackery mixed-grain malt feeling, quite a lot of dry tannic oak, hay, herbal hops, slightly tart citrus fruit quality with a little unripe pit fruit. The finish is extremely dry, a lot of neutral, tannic oak, bittering hops, dusty Brett, herbs, citrus pith. Medium bodied, slightly oily, soft effervescent carbonation. Really solid dry funky BA saison, heavy on the wood end of things, nice brew. fonefan (50674) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 22, 2017

Bottle 750ml. at [ Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting ] @ Deanso’s place (former ABC Beers), Korte Koediefstraat 5 Den Haag, Netherlands 2511CE.
[ As Oxbow Barrel Aged Farmhouse Pale Ale ].
Unclear matt medium orange yellow colour with a small, frothy - fizzy and open, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, fruity malt, pale malt, moderate hoppy, herbs, celery, wood. Flavor is moderate sweet, light acidic and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, tart, herbs, pale malt, fruity malt, finky. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Poured from a March 2016, 500 ml bottle.
Aroma is a bit muted. There is some light cracker malt notes as well as some light oak. Hints of acidity with some light citrus and green grape notes.
Pours a somewhat hazy, dull, golden straw color with a medium large, thick, pillowy, white head that exhibits nice retention as it slowly recedes to a thin film that lingers. Moderately high lacing and faint legs.
Flavor has a medium light sweetness with a light acidic note. Medium light cracker malt notes with moderate bitterness. Light to medium light oak. The finish has a weird note which I guess is the citrus from the acidity combining with the citrus from the hops. Its not readily identifiable as citrus and it definitely has an herbal, spicy component as well.
Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, I’m not sure if its the age or what, but its a bit disappointing. The aroma is very muted and the flavor is fairly muted as well. The hop notes are not very bright and the ester levels are pretty low as well. Yorker (2032) - Holstebro, DENMARK - MAR 31, 2017
