3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The appearance had just a film of a white head with the nornal pale orange hazy body. Ever so slight bubbles surfacing in strings. Some beautiful nice ringy lacing graces the chalice. The smell had the Belgian yeast up front with some light floral/earthiness in the background. The taste was the same with an added bready/graininess. The palate was light to medium, normal Belgian harshness on the tongue expected but still trying to get used to with this style. Overall, this is good for the style and good for me.
Poured from a fresh growler it has a hazy yellowish copper with a one finger head... Aromas are Belgian yeast, earthy spicy hops, and great ripe nectarine. On the palate it follow suit and quite tremendously. Refreshing yet complex which is how alot of Oxbow’s beer have been drinking for me lately. Great spicy earthy hop flavors from the Amarillo hops lead into a juicy nectarine, mango driven mid palate that shine s through the light malts and also gives nice citrus touches along with a slight bitterness on the finish. colinize (317) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Liked it better then I thought I would. Tastes more like an IPA then a saison, but that's ok. Bitter hops, some Belgian fruit flavors. Good beer.
