on tap at Scion in Washington DC; cloudy gold color; citrusy aroma; dry, bitter, citrusy hop flavor with mild Belgian yeast and spice notes; very light malt base nimbleprop (9048) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - MAY 22, 2015
Sampled at Meridian Pint, pours a hazy yellow with some creamy, white head. Nose is a nice blend of tropical fruit notes and mild spice, lots of yeasty notes, mild straw, a little cheesy. Flavor has a lot more saison, quite yeasty, loads of spice, almost like chai, the hop provides a necessary lemon/papaya character. Full bodied, lightly tart finish. Seems like everyone of their beers poured in perfect condition (light chill haziness at most), which is very impressive in the age of the cloudy IPA. This one was indeed bright, pale golden and with a small but firm white head.
Much like the Domestic, a blonde saison (grisette here) with very fruity American hops. It is neither drowned out of its Belgian qualities nor does too much bitterness/acidity build up. Pineapple, papaya, lime, lychee and a well-attenuated body that nonetheless still has a strong malt structure to it. Tart acids from the yeast (light) are still notable in the finish as the carbonation helps clear some of the hop flavors aside and allows for the soft honey and biscuit malt to deepen the complexity. Not a huge fan of American-hopped Belgians, but these guys are doing about as best as I can imagine with them.
Draft sample at churchkey. Completely hazy bright yellow. Tart and light funk, grass, lemon zest, farmhouse yeasty. The bright fruits with lime and more lemon come in first and then grainy, gritty farmhouse spice elements follow. Really awesome. I love this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone tom10101 (6317) - Quebec, CANADA - APR 6, 2015

Appearance: Hazy golden with a small to medium white head and good lacing.
Aroma: Interesting spicy profile with some farmhouse character, crisp cereals, herbal notes and light fruitiness.
Taste: Again, the spicy cereals profile is really interesting, mild but it tickles the tongue just enough to prepare for the other flavors. There’s also a nice farmhouse character similar to what is found is a few other Oxbow beers I have tried so far, crisp cereals, herbal notes, light citrusy presence and hints of acidity.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate, but prickly carbonation. Moderately dry. Mild spicy finish.
Overall: Good farmhouse spicy Grisette. Easily drinkable, tasty and quenching.
Draft at Strangelove’s. Pours cloudy golden yellow with nice head that leaves lace indicative of the style. First taste is bright with lemongrass, funky, with hints of wheat. Finish is slightly dry with notes of lime. Nice beer rodenbach99 (4571) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 26, 2015
2015-03-04. Hazy pastel yellow body with white head and lace. 3+ Aroma of grass and lemon over sweetish pale malt core. Flavour is pleasantly fruity with notes of citrus and peach but turns quite dry and bitter in the finish, and surprisingly alcoholic considering it’s relatively modest strength. Perhaps influenced by my pizza lunch? Who knows. Smooth bodied palate, soft carbonation. Decent. Draft at Churchkey, DC. Bright hazy yellow with creamy white head. Sweaty funk aroma, but body disappoints a bit, I’d like more funk. Creamy semi-sweet, dry finish. Nice yeasty quality. Solid.
