Cask. Smooth and creamy with a big white head. A little funky aroma. Grassy and herbal and a little more fruity for an esb.

Taps clear coppery with a fairly thick buff head that leaves good lacing. Aroma offers subtle fruity and malty notes. Flavor adds bitter, woody hops and a snip of caramel to the mix. Mouthfeel features good body, good fizz, and a woody finish. A toast to yer Uncle Bob. Or Eric. Or whatever.

Enjoyed this fresh from a growler from the brewery in Asheville, absolutely delicious! Poured a ruby/ cherry wood brown color, with white foamy head, solid lacing. Aroma and taste of rich caramel malt, some wood, light solid nutty flavor, earthy hops with a twang. Very complex and a fine rendition of the style. Very clean, pleasant lightly bitter finish. Very very good! I would seek this out in Asheville, and next time I'll try some of Oysterhouse's other offerings!

From a growler. Pours hazy ruby brown with a fizzy off white head. Tastes nicely bitter, like toast, caramel, dry wood, nutty. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like toasted malt, nutty, earthy.

b3shine (9359) - Indiana, USA - MAR 9, 2014
Draft to taster at OysterHouse. Looks good for the style; a fairly transparent copperish brown with off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells malty with mild notes of hops and caramel. Tastes like it smells with a bit more hops. Solid on the palate. Enjoyable.

phaleslu (11003) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 20, 2014
Taster at the brewpub. Pours a clear, dead amber with no head. Notes of caramel, citrus, pine, pineapple, grass, spice, and earth. Medium-bodied, with low carbonaiton and a resinous, juicy mouthfeel. Good ESB; pretty hoppy, so not really traditional. But good.

DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 18, 2014
Taster on tap at OysterHouse during RBWG. Mostly hazy amber orange color. Thin off-white head. Good dots and ropes of lace. Good herbal, earthy hop in the nose, some toffee malt character. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Good moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Solid ESB.
