300 ml bottle from City Market in Burlington VT (March 2008), served cold from a White Winter Winery glass. Very clear, perhaps a slight yellowish tint, a bit oily-looking, very faint legs in the glass.....beautiful delicate floral/coconut aroma with a bit of lychee as it warms up a bit, not a trace of alcohol in the nose....quite sweet and rich on the palate at the front, lightly nutty-milky and malty, drying and becoming assertively alcoholic and somewhat metallic at the finish, but not problematically so....ends rather quickly, warming. Pretty solid overall, perhaps a bit much to drink a whole bottle of (which I’m doing anyway).

In parallelo. Plus. Bevuto caldo. (A 6. A 7. T 7. P 4. L’aroma in bocca finisce su sentori di melone e di affumicato.

Honjozo’s tend to be very woody with a dry aftertaste. This one is quite generic and well it’s OK. Palate is a tad strong but the flavors are fine.

Koji, mulberry, prune aroma. Crystal clear and colorless. Melon and koji, honey and blackberry on the back end. Strong umami overtones. Light body, but rather warm and velvety.

Dry, crisp and lots of warm alcohol burn. Overall very smooth and refreshing and great with food.

Bottle shared by jcwattsrugger: Poured a clear no head. Aroma was funky pungent cheese and fruit. Taste was burning alcohol fruit maybe.

Cheers to jcwattsrugger for this one. Pours a mostly clear with a pink hue and no head. Nose is sweet, floral, grain, and mineral. Flavor is similar with floral, sweet, and some minerality. Light to medium and interesting.

Bottle. Slight yellow color. Sweet rice aroma with husk notes. Sweet syrup upfront with dry finish. Slight alcohol burn in the finish but smooth overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
