22 yr old on tap at PCB - 4oz pour. Absolutely no carbonation. Dark ruby red color. Aroma between raisiny water and my mother’s homemade mac & cheese. Tart flavor. Something like dark cherries and button mushroms. Mouthfeel more like a wine than barleywine. No hops at all. Ibrew2or3 (8748) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 26, 2010
On tap at the brewpub pouring up mahogany with ruby edges and micro thin white head. The aroma is bold and wants to bowl you over with its never – never bigness. I get plums, cherries, molasses, caramel and red wine fruity tartness along with a touch of soy. The taste starts feeling thin and vinous with pleasing smooth blended notes of plums, apricots, cherry, raspberry and red wine grapes. Just beneath the fruitiness are notes of caramel and molasses struggling to be heard and attempt to create a tasty balance between the fruitiness and maltiness. This is a wonderful experience.
