This beer is the poor mans Corona. Honestly tastes like seltzer water. Very popular at the store i work at, i dont get it! This beer is ideal for a 100 degree day. Refreshing but tastes like nothing. Beatnicks! jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - JUN 20, 2005
Very very pale clear yellow with a quickly fading white head. Light grain and hay in the nose. Flavor has notes of corn, adjuncts, grain and some grassiness. Moderately sweet, a touch of bitterness. Light bodied, watery with fizzy carbonation. No lacing or head retention. Not really offensive but far from good. guzzler67 (1696) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - JUN 19, 2005
Cooked corn aroma that does not improve as it warms. Clear, light gold appearance. Not many ways to describe the bland taste, other than that I did not have to spit it out. pobenohne (504) - Northern Liberties, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 14, 2005
Bottle while sitting on the stoop on Sunday afternoon. Cold - this is a pleasant and forgettable brew. Not awful, but probably won’t have this again. Odeed (1803) - Bakersfield, California, USA - JUN 10, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 11, 2005 this was really light in the body/flavor as far as mexican brews go.same color head etc.but id rather have a modelo or tecate.

Pale gold with little aroma or flavor. This is poor man’s Corona, which I guess would be similar to the meat versions of poor man’s head cheese or poor man’s Hormel Spam. Unless this is free or served off the bosom of a Brazilian chick, pass on it. sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 22, 2005
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2006 (Bottled) Clear, pale golden color with a small, fading head. Acidic, sweetish, corny-malty aroma with honey hints. Quite sweet and acidic, corny-buttery flavor with grassy hops in the finish. The hopping reminds me of the Koff brews a few years back. Light-bodied, slicky and fizzy-carbonated palate. Not the worst mexican lager - and actually has some flavors, too. donrajin (233) - Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, USA - MAY 17, 2005
Better than Corona, but that is about it. No real good beer characteristics to speek of. Light color, light flavor (not as light as light macros), and light finish. I would recommend over some of the other Mexican swill, but not many. hezron (614) - Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 15, 2005
Not much aroma, just a hint of skunk. Pale yellow with a white head. (How often do you say that when rating pale lagers?) Light flavor of malt and then a citrus-lemon finish. bbrock81 (317) - Le Mars, Iowa, USA - MAY 8, 2005
Well, it’s better than Corona, but that isn’t really saying much, is it? The aroma and flavor are mild, with no real hop characteristics and no malty sweetness. There has got to be a lot of adjunct in here, probably rice judging from how neutral the beer is. It’s pretty much on par with Bud heavy, which is to say it’s better than macro light beers but not as good as almost all micros, even the big ones like Leinie’s or Sam’s. But almost any other microbrew will serve you better, give you more flavor and more type-specific characteristics. However, if you must have a Mexican brew try a Negra Modelo instead, that’s a lot better than this stuff.
