Just another common beer, kinda watery (read : good for the tropics). Not much foam or aroma. Light yellowish color with a barely noticiable taste.

A very, very watered down lager; if it’s a pilsener as the description indicates, it’s horrible...definitely more of the qualities of a lager. Smooth, watery palate, indescript aroma, appearance, no flavor worth mentioning. It’s not that bad, but not that good. Have it with food at a restaurant, otherwise, steer away from it.

This one’s not going to wow you, but it is my top recommendation when it comes to a Mexican lager. Dethrone Corona, my friends. This is the beer of choice for Mexico’s West Coast. It’s got more hops and the aftertaste remains longer than its competition. It’s not a beer you try to impress someone with, but it is a beer to use as the Mexican standard.

Pours a pale yellow. Sure it smells of something but what?Water and fizz with real imitation beer flavour added. Best if it’s free.

Bottle No aroma. Pale golden, foamy head. Straw flavors, then nothing. Almost, but not quite, entirerely unlike beer.

Pours a golden color. Aroma is that of a can of corn. Tastes like sweet corn with a bit of acidity in it. Not a great pale lager, but at least it isn’t skunky.

Pale straw colour with a thin white head fading to nothing. Grassy aroma, pale malt, thin flavour of corn/malt with some lingering sweetness. A bit of cardboard character as well. Crap.

Overall not bad but there are many Mexican lagers that are better. I was surprised that this was from makers of Carona. Perhaps they could share the formula with the carona people and make a better swill of that crap.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2006 Good beer, blonde beers aren’t really my type, but this one deserves a good grade. It’s excellent while eating seafood.

Saarlander (1920) - Saarlouis, GERMANY - OCT 8, 2004
A nice drink on a hot day, a good mexican beer for a pils/lager. there are many better Mexican beers, well, a few! But its a good thirst quencher! LOL Not skunky at all, smoother than alot of Mexican beers.
