A prototype IPA which features a huge malt profile from Maris Otter malt as a backbone, and massive amounts of Cascade & Amarillo hops. The hop flavour and aroma are huge as well as the hop bite. This is not a beer for those afraid of character.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 11/20

Sampled at the GCBF. Quite hazy, nose has no bitterness or tartness whatsover, only sweet tangerine and malt. Flavour is a tad more bitter and the fruit comes through. A very average IPA, offers nothing special; if you take the average balance of bittering and aroma hops, this is slightly tipped toward bittering, but it’s not particularly strong.

Rating from old records. From bottle in shaker: pours amber with nice pine hop nose with malt coming through. An enjoyable, well-balanced IPA.

Alankabatoff (11) - Port Moody, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 28, 2015
An English style IPA that is very well balanced. Malty but a nice finish. The smell is malts, raisin cake, ginger bread. Taste is malt forward, semi sweet, bitter but pleasant finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pint on tap at Local Public Eatery, downtown Medicine Hat. Poured a brownish-ruby hue with very little head. Slightly dusty floral and piney hops, with astringent grapefruit, and some light malt wandering in-between. Thin-bodied; short, clean finish. Good, although I’d hoped for a fresher, broader hop profile.

RhetoricalAns (973) - Red Deer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 12, 2015
Draught. Clear dark amber pour, fine medium head. Aroma is lots of pine hops, some citrus, lemon. Taste has a decent malt base with a good bitter finish. thicker body with low carbonation.

MunBro (942) - St. Albert, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 28, 2014
Dark amber pour with little head and specks of lacing. Very malty for an IPA, overly so compared to the hops. More of an amber for me than a citrusy IPA. Not bad overall though.

Ratman197 (15616) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - NOV 12, 2014
Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, woody hops and light earthiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of caramel, woody hops and light earthiness with a smooth finish.

pictoman (1252) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 28, 2014
Poured from 355mL bottle. Slight hazy mahogany brown with beige head. Vegetable, very mild resiny hops, mild caramel malt, slight nuttiness. Dry finish.

simonblaine (593) - Alberta, CANADA - JUN 1, 2014
Pours dark auburn, good head. Aroma of malts, light pine. Taste is good, caramel, bitter, cinnamon, not too bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

trussell (14) - - MAY 20, 2014
Heavy ipa with dark colour and bold hop flavour. A thick ipa with low carbonation. The hop flavour is not very bright. A true ale but a bit muddled. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

AgentAle (1848) - Fort Mcmurray, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 19, 2014
Aroma is lemon grass, citrus, some mild earthiness and sweet malts. Taste is bitter up front with a bitterness that finishes pretty smoothly with light tartiness. Body is a cloudy and somewhat dark one with a pearl white head that is thick, frothy and retains very well.
