Draft at Brewers Rendezvous 7/10/10. Pours a thin off white head, over a dark, but still brown (SRM 30) body.....nose is coffee, chocolate.....taste is coffee, chocolate with a light bit of bitterness on the finish.....mouth feel is light, carbonation medium. Draught. Pours black with a small, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, chocolate, coffee), light hops (grass), average yeast (leather) with notes of prunes and tar. Medium bodied, oily texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.
