Very deep red colour with medium slightly red/plum colour. Aromas, sweet of sour and tart cherries, syrup with notes of lemon coca-cola and sour candy. Palate, medium body with smooth texture leaving slightly bitter finish. Taste, bittersweet, initially sweet and fruity but then turns bitter, and reminds of an English bitter with caramel notes and bittering English hops. Wierd! Overall, not bad, okay, did not expect that in taste, but drinkable.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2017 bière très foncé, grosse mousse crémeuse, bon goût de malt avec une très légère amertume qui se maintient en arrière bouche. Goût de pain grillé, caramel et café.

On tap at a Pop up bar just across the road from Bierboom, Brugge, Belgium, Friday 15th September 2017 with Lynn and Barry. You can pick up aromas of molasses, a little sticky and tiny bit of a sour edge, tangy, fruity, a good bruin. Pours dark brown with a slim light beige head. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

A good Brown Belgian Ale, nice, complex flavors. Not exactly outstanding but a well-crafted classic Belgian Bruin.

Pours very dark brown, tan foam fades fairly soon, lace not the clingy sort. Pleasant nose of Christmas dessert, stewed dark fruits and dark caramel, but a bit tinny/metallic too. Rather sweet taste, checked by light bitterness and light doughy acidic tang, with more treacly sweetness in the aftertaste. Cloys a bit, not as "dry" as the label suggests. At 6% I expected a more workaday-drinker of a brown ale.
