Pours very dark brown, tan foam fades fairly soon, lace not the clingy sort. Pleasant nose of Christmas dessert, stewed dark fruits and dark caramel, but a bit tinny/metallic too. Rather sweet taste, checked by light bitterness and light doughy acidic tang, with more treacly sweetness in the aftertaste. Cloys a bit, not as "dry" as the label suggests. At 6% I expected a more workaday-drinker of a brown ale.

Shared bottle. Dark amber with a beige head. Malty aroma. Taste is dark malt, toast, cardboard and some dubious flavor which I can’t quite put my finger on. Not very good.

Aroma: extremely malty; Appearance: dark amber/cola with thin white head that dissipates quickly; Taste: follows nose plus an unpleasant bitterness that spreads around the mouth - yuck; getting some cardboard as well; Overall: never again.
