COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The gold-colored Palmetto Charleston Lager is perhaps the companys cleverest creation; its strong in flavor, crisp, with a fresh, clean finish (i.e., no lingering aftertaste), but light enough so you could drink it just about all day. Yeast and a cool fermentation are what make a lager a lager, and Palmettos is among the smoothest, mellowest around.

from the bottle. Gold in color with off white head. Light, somewhat bland aroma. Flavor is slightly sweet, creamed corn perhaps, with no bitterness and a light, watery feel. Finish is a bit off-putting, with a touch skunk. Overall neither unpleasing nor memorable.

Charleston Lagers best feature, its looks, will keep you happy for a few seconds. Not too much positive after that.

When an icy cold beer on a 90 degree day with 90% humidity is as unsatisfying as this one, then theres a problem. Sight grassy aroma and a weak watery micro-beer taste that made way for a metallic tang.

Honey-colored with no head but lots of effervescence. Medium aroma of bread with a hint of metal. Balanced with a medium mouthfeel. Yeasty with a mild metallic finish. Just OK.

Draught. Clear golden with small white head. Aroma of mild hops with flavor of grass and flowers. Lame, light bitter finish. Boring but easy on Charleston beaches. A good day beer I guess.

Pours gold with a white head. Smells skunky and sweet with some grapey hints. Tastes of hay, sweet malt, crisp, some earthy hints.

Bottle from Matty. Poured a clear gold color. The head was two fingers high and white with decent retention. Smelled of light grassy hops, white bread, pale malt, and subdued yeasty bread dough. Light bodied and delicately sweet with mild bitterness at the end. The flavors were fairly predictable for this standard lager; Pale malt, grassy hop, and a touch of honey. Not unpleasant.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. The aroma was grainy with a hint of cardboard. The flavor was grainy, corn, mild sweetness, and a slight bitterness in the finish. A bit watery and thin. Ill pass on this in the future.
