The gold-colored Palmetto Charleston Lager is perhaps the company’s cleverest creation; it’s strong in flavor, crisp, with a fresh, clean finish (i.e., no lingering aftertaste), but light enough so you could drink it just about all day. Yeast and a cool fermentation are what make a lager a lager, and Palmetto’s is among the smoothest, mellowest around.

Courtesy of decaturstevo - Clear golden color with a light white head that faded quickly. Leaves a foam ring around the glass as you drink it down. Has that typical grainy pale lager aroma. Light malt flavor with some noticeable bitterness. Light bodied and smooth. Decent pale lager. Thanks Steve.

12 oz bottle at Hominy Grill in Charleson, SC. A fizzy quick-receding snowy head caps the clear, medium amber body....light lemon sourness touches the grainy fresh nose, and faint floral hops provide interest.....lovely Munich malts are a solid, supportive background on the tongue for a smooth-drinking experience, with light sweetness upfront and dry fine herbal-hoppy crispness towards the finish....clean, slightly on the thin side, very refreshing.

My favorite lager. Clean, crisp, nice flavor. I could drink this all day. One of the best in it’s class.

A nice golden glass with a clean white head. A dry aroma that reminds you of cardboard. A flavor of malt and paper. A little dry tasting. A pleasant beer with a flavor that had just a slight bitter that wasn’t like hops. Just a bit of a weak/watery palate. I drank it a little warm trying to squeeze as much flavor out of it as possible. I would think that if this beer were served cold on a hot day I could and would drink them all day.

Aroma is a low intensity grassy, cardboard affair. Golden colored body holds a thin white head. Smooth barley sweetness int he fore and a hearty grainy flavor int he middle that is very bready. Finish is like a pear/apple pastry sans the icing. It’s all very low intensity like the aroma, but it tastes pretty decent.

Palmetto Lager is as impressive as the Pale and the Amber. This beer pours to a beautiful, straw golden color with a thick white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The palate is crisp and clean, with a very smooth and drinkable body. This beer finishes with a nice balance of malt and hop flavors.

golden brown with a touch of sunshine. flickers in the night like a lost torch or star. simple and few olfactory sensory needed. slight crisp hop and lemon character. easy to drink and refreshing.

Bottle. Slightly sour malt and hops aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Barley malt, grass flavor with moderate hops - slight corn flavor as well but not . Very smooth and less grainy than many lagers. Very nice.

(Draught) Pours a clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma of mild hops with flavor of garssy and floral hops. Somewhat bitter finish.

The way a classic lager should be, great and like 5 bucks a sixer. Really prob. not extraordinary in any way, but it’s the best brewery in SC.
