UPDATED: APR 2, 2018 Pleasant sweet coffee aroma but that's the best part of the beer, roasty malts and coffee taste but a strange, almost chili-like aftertaste and too bitter, really detracts from the beer, can. crossovert (14433) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 5, 2017
Draft. Dark brown pour. Tan head. Aroma is roasty and espresso. Flavor is roasty and bitter smooth. Nice. jgb9348 (6773) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - SEP 3, 2017
Dark brown coloured body with a relatively fast-dying tan head, about two centimetres tall. Aroma of toasted malt, hazlenuts, earth, grain, a light bit of coffee and a dose of caramelised sugars. Light to Medium-bodied; Noticeable malty and caramel flavours with some hazlenuts and grain around as well as some very light brewed coffee, but not too much, especially in terms of a porter. Aftertaste is on the malty side with earth and grain and very little else, aside from sugars and a faint hit of coffee. Overall, a decent beer at best that shows more of a Brown Ale than a porter, and the coffee taste is definitely muted, but this at least shows some complexities, but definitely not on par with some of the better coffee-based beers. Still, sad to say that this is decent to try, given that I'm not in South Carolina often. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Grapevine in Fort Mill, South Carolina on 21-August-2017 for US$1,70 after watching the Eclipse, sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in Pungoteague, Virginia on 02-September-2017. From tap @ ADT. Pours clear dark brown with a lasting tan head and good lacing. Bitter coffee nose with roasted malt. Flavors also heavy coffee with added chocolate and roasted notes. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation. Long lasting coffee finish, very nice. HourGlass13 (1148) - North Carolina, USA - MAY 31, 2017
Pours dark mahogany with a small tan head. Aroma is all coffee. Taste is like an espresso with a kick. Nice coffee bitterness with a creamy mouth feel. A delicious porter.

great strong coffee smell...taste is smooth and not bitter though... doesn’t even get bitter with warmth (only slightly more)... low complexity though...solid thick mouthfeel. freekyp (2525) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - MAY 27, 2017
Nice round smooth body. A little slickness. Deep roast coffee aroma and flavor. Nice roast bean fade. Hops there just enough to balance. Some dark bakers chocolate. kramer (6990) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 7, 2017
Can. Pours a clear brown bodied with a small fizzy brown head that left just a touch of lacing. The nose is pretty coffee forward with a nice base of chocolate and roast. The flavor is pretty nice as well, nice bright citrusy coffee up front with a finish that’s a bit sweeter and lingers with notes of chocolate and roast. Medium bodied with just a slight cling and soft fizzy carbonation. I like this one. Ernest (7980) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 17, 2017
Can (Dec 2, 2016 canning).
Head is initially average sized, frothy/fizzy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (roasted grain, stale coffee grounds, unsweetened chocolate, peanuts), with a note of crayons.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Poor coffee expression and slightly off, aroma-wise. Kinda watery and heading towards bland in the mouth. Tolerable but not very enjoyable. drowland (9210) - Georgia, USA - APR 14, 2017
11/13/16. On tap at World of Beer, HHI. Black pour with a nice tan head. Light coffee aroma, a little thin, some chocolate. Good flavor, coffee, chocolate, cream, caramel, roasted malts. Tasty!
