Bottle at Porch Nite thanks to Brisben. Pours dark brown to black with a thin tan head. Aroma is dark roasted coffee and some roast. Not much maltiness. Flavor follows with lots of coffee. Nice beer. woodychevy (874) - - DEC 30, 2014
Part of local flight at Charleston tap house. Pleasantly suprised for Palmetto. Strikes the right porter notes. Bit heavy handed with the coffee (but it is, espresso porter, after all) and somewhat thin mouthfeel (but it is Charleston, after all) but otherwise no complaints. Drinkable if not especially memorable. DedicatedToFun (4000) - Santa Monica, California, USA - DEC 23, 2014
Tap, black pour, white head, nose is espresso, taste is espresso, best beer for sure hombrepalo (1971) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 21, 2014
12oz bottle won in fantasy baseball league. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty fresh coffee aroma. Roasted malty coffee flavor with hints of chocolate. Has a roasted malty coffee finish. chinchill (5224) - South Carolina, USA - OCT 9, 2014
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2016 12 oz bottle served in a snifter. (repeated in May 2016).
Pour is dark red-brown, clear but nearly opaque with a bubbly head that soon reduces to a thick ring.
Aroma: coffee dominates and smells more like brewed coffee than beans. Enough dark roasted grains to show even with the strong coffee.
Flavor: black coffee and dark roasted grains in about equal measure. Both linger on in the aftertaste where there’s a little (unobjectionable) char as well.
O: medium+ body; Properly carbonated and fairly smooth.

Pours dark mahogany with a small tan head. Aroma is all coffee. Taste is like an espresso with a kick. Nice coffee bitterness with a creamy mouth feel. A delicious porter. RafeAU (629) - Los Angeles, California, USA - SEP 13, 2014
strong coffee flavour with the beans fresh roasted next door. on tap at the brewery in charleston. Nice tour of the place. ARH (1137) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 6, 2014
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2016 On tap poured into a shaker. Mocha like smells of sweet coffee and milk chocolate and lactose sugar come through, but they?re fairly mellow. It pours a dark, opaque brown-black body topped by a medium tan ring with a runny lace. A medium sweetness is supported by a light bitterness. The texture is watery and slick, with very little help from a mostly flat carbonation. The medium body finishes with smooth mocha notes, supported by caramel, and a hint of nuttiness and a spicy clove note. The finish is mostly espresso in flavor and grittiness with a clove cleanliness. The aftertaste is dry and clean spice. rollinsr (809) - Atlanta, GEORGIA - JUN 1, 2014
Pours black to very dark brown with virtually no head. Aroma is dark chocolate and nutty with a healthy java tinge. Flavor is well rounded with smoky dark fruit character. The sweet smoky flavors blend well with the dark malt and espresso flavors. Very enjoyable. jkwood04 (5463) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 23, 2014
12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some coffee, light smokiness, some dark chocolate, and light dough and bitterness. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty good beer.
