Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JUL 9, 2013
Bottle from my backyard fridge. Maybe Cavie. Probably my tuba compadre (drowland). Sample's 100th, finally. Dark pour with a small brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, an maybe some dirt. Taste is a little dirt, coffee, and some unfortunate burn. Taste doesn't match the aroma, but an alright finish.

Cavie (4836) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JUL 9, 2013
Bottle courtesy Fratto. Pours a cloudy maroon color with a light beige head. Aroma is lovely. Espresso beans, chocolate notes, heavily roasted, freshly roasted coffee ground. Flavor is also roasted coffee, bitter notes, chocolate malts. Aroma is better than the flavor. Still very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Fratto. Smells FANTASTIC. Pours very dark with a tan head. Smells of coffee and malts. Very strong coffee flavor. Fantastic beer. Love it.

Chudwick (3392) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - JUN 19, 2013
12oz bottle - pours brown with khaki with good lacing. Nose is coffee and milk chocolate. Flavor adds roast, cereal and herbal hops. Mildly sweet with coffee roast bitterness. Somewhat flat.

Braudog (6852) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle. Typical American porter pour ... dark brownish, black, thin head. Aroma straight from the office coffee pot. Drinks with a stark, java-based bitterness, unusually delicious. Good example of a coffee-based dark beer. Love it. (#5017, 5/10/2013)

Strong coffee/chocolate flavors in a solid brew. This was great after a day touring Charleston and the environs. Nice head and good lacing, the undertones are strong and cut through just about anything. Not for the faint at heart.

JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - APR 11, 2013
Piggly mother-trucking Wiggly. Awesome that this Pig had such a nice bottle selection and growler station. Dark brown pour, moderate carbonation, and a thinnish look overall. Understated chocolate and burnt coffee in the nose. Fairly thin body, as suspected, and the flavors are a bit muted. Some papery nose, some burnt bean char, dark chocolate overtones. Nothing special.

DocLock (11101) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 23, 2013
Bottle from my brother from a Hilton Head trip. Pours dark brownish black with minimal khaki head. Nose is roasty dark malt, huge coffee, hot peppers of the chili and jalapeno variety. Tastes roasty choc malty, with notes of coffee and chili pepper in the finish. I’m pretty sure no hot peppers were used in this, but it damned well tasted like it , and it tasted good, stubby.

Draft at Brewvival. Dark brownish maroon color, almost flat. Aroma of cofee, nutella. Taste is espresso and dark chocolate.

12 ounce bottle pours a cocacola brown color with esspresso, roast, light chocolate and sweet malt. Flavors are mostly light esspresso with some sweet malt thrown in. Thin on the palate for my liking of a porter but a nice beer overall.
