Bottle. Pours almost black with a tan head. Aroma is very nice. Roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Flavor is nice. Roasty and toasty. Malty and light chocolae and coffee notes. Nice. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 2, 2008
12 oz. bottle at Mellow Mushroom, Charleston, SC. Pours very dark brown, nearly black, with a thin tan head that disappeared after two sips and left no lace. Mild aroma of roasted malt. Flavor is a bit more bold with some roasted malt and coffee. Light bitterness at the finish. A bit light bodied. Not watery, just light bodied. An ok beer, but a bit mild for a porter. timsilvia32 (449) - from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 18, 2008
Brown pour, cream colored head. Basic roast malty nose. Rather light bodied, some mocha roasted malts, biscuit. Pretty clean finish. No nice lingerings. Not bad, but a bit underwhelming. TikiE (368) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - AUG 14, 2008
Bottled: Brought back when I was home, but sadly not very good. Pours a brown color with a red tint. Tastes of faint roasted malt that is faint and a little watered down. Collint (475) - Sylva, North Carolina, USA - AUG 14, 2008
Bottle, from charleston. Pours a dark brown with a thin almost no head. Aroma is a sweet malt and chocolate smell. Flavor is thin malty and boring, nothing special here.

Look id dark brown to black in color with a decent beige colored head. Smell is roasty, coffee, and toasty. Taste is much the same as the smell. Dark and roasty. 00cobraR (1103) - Greensboro, North Carolina, USA - JUN 28, 2008
Wow. A solide porter. Pours out a very deep brown color with a small tan head. aroma is full of choco, and roasted malt. Flavor was smooth as silk. had a nice choco roast flavor with a slight bitterness in the finish. i was really impressed with this on. pojo41 (315) - Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA - JUN 6, 2008
Had a couple of these at Hyman’s Seafood restaurant with dinner.
Poured a dark brown to nearly black color with an OK off-white head. It left a little lacing on my glass. Aroma of dark roasted malt with an almost smoky character. Flavor of the same dark roasted malt with a slightly burnt flavor with a bit of bitterness. I thought this was a pretty good porter. It went well with my flounder. cale422 (28) - Timmonsville, South Carolina, USA - JUN 2, 2008

[Bottle, thanks tennisjoel!] Pours cola brown with a tiny off-white head. Aroma is cocoa and somewhat nutty. Taste is deep roasted malt, a hint of the cocoa again and then something harshly bitter. Somewhat thin, but has a long finish. Not bad, but pretty simple and really didn’t set itself apart in any way.
