Cool Beanz Coffee Porter is a easy drinking porter with a balanced yet notably coffee focused beer. We brew this beer with our local Coffee Roaster Philz Coffee. The Philz roast we use, Philtered Soul, is roasted with hazelnuts and lends a nice nutty roundness to the beer

Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, fekete szín. Kávés, kakaós, csokis illat. Kávés, kakaós, ízvilág, némi csokis, aszalt gyümölcsös aromákkal. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas, erősen keserű. Jó arányokkal rendelkező, finom sör.

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry roasted, espresso, roasted grain, cocoa, toffee, grass, lactose, weeds. Taste is sour-ish burnt, weeds, sour coffee, oak, bark, sour grass, hay, minerals. Medium bitterness, sour-ish mineraly mouthfeel. Aroma is nice, but the taste reminds me of a dark beer gone infected.

On tap @ Beer Temple. Lots of lovely lacework on this one. The beer itself is quite on the darker brown side and the head has a grey almost beige color. I like the woody sour aroma. Blends well with the coffee. Also tones of chocolate in the blend. Nice. Well, it’s really dry this. Wouldn’t say directly sour more tart-infected and burnt woody. Extremely mouthdrying! Feels thin oily in the mouth and it’s prickling on the bubbles. Yeah, not all that much more to say really. Didn’t love it, but it’s something different for sure. 24.09.2015

Bomber from De Caigny. Californian coffee porter with ’membranous’ lacing, pale greyish beige, dense, medium thick, very regularly structured head and very dark burgundy robe, blackish in appearance, but still translucent. Aroma of cold black coffee and coffee grounds indeed, but embedded in impressions of cured meat, dried porcini, ’fondant’ chocolate, roasted peanuts, hazelnut shells, dried tree leaves, stewed beef, bayleaf, overcooked broccoli, soggy tea bags, charred branches, vague hints of salmiak, green banana, cigar ashes and dried fig. Rounded, subduedly sweetish and ’dim’ sourish onset, hints of blackberry, raisin and blueberry but very restrained and surrounded by a black olive- and dried porcini-like, but nevertheless gentle umami taste; carbo is soft and fit for the style. Smooth, soft, slick mouthfeel, pleasant malt body with immediate nutty and even nut shell character, more bittering than sweet, toasted bitter towards the end with again that ’dim’ sourishness underneath, retronasal coffee grounds aspect but not exagerratedly coffeeish in comparison with many other coffee beers I’ve had; ends juicy, with the bittersweet maltiness persisting, aided by a dash of earthy, spicy hop bitterness which lasts even longer than the maltiness. Fairly straightforward, easy-going porter with much less ’fresh’ and fragrant coffee aroma than I was hoping for, but by itself a perfectly pleasant beer, easily drinkable and definitely true to its style - insofar as there is such a thing as a well-defined porter style in the 21st century, of course.

Incredibly much coffee aroma. The flavor is wonderful and of great coffee. Towards the end it becomes a little watery. But still very good. Sweet bitterness that fills the mouth for a long time. Good beer but would need a bit more power and taste. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a dark brown with a reddish hue and a creamy and lacing beige head. The nose is completely dominated by the heavy roast coffee. Medium body, sweet roast and again heavy coffee notes. Dryish finish. Quite alright. 041115
