Nice brown color with a taller creamy textured, beige head with decent lace. Sweeter aromas with some honey roasted nut and bits of toasted malt. Sweeter start as well, with caramel coated toasted malt. Middle is rather dry as is the finish and linger. A generic bitterness lingers late. 8/11

Pours amber brown with a big off white head. Aroma is bitter chocolate. Slight roast. Cardboard. Flavor is very bitter. No caramel or malt flavors at all. Yeasty. Harsh. Cascade hops in a brown? Not terribly enjoyable. crossovert (13080) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 30, 2014
355ml bottle. Amber brown pour, slightly fruity, coffee in the flavor. Flavor is yeasty, some green bean. Tastes older, dont trust binnys. rondphoto (4468) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - JAN 19, 2014
@ Jungle Jims / Eastgate Clear brown with a rocky tan head, wide bands of lace. Taste is malt at the onset, quickly covered by hop bitters, which is in turn covered by bittersweet chocolate. Definitely a one-of-a-kind brew, but lingering chocolate bitters isn’t the memory I’d prefer. Not a repeater for me. steelhead3686 (270) - Jacksonville, North Carolina, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Pours a crisp brown with a small to to medium mocha head. The aroma definitely has a nutty aroma with hints of roast and coffee. It has a light to medium sweetness with a light bitter. The body is light to medium with a thin texture and a slight sweet and bitter finish that doesn’t linger. It’s not bad and it’s not great. I’m not a big fan of brown ales but this one is worth trying at least.

Mohogany pour with a light tan head. Aroma is light roasted malt, a little nutty,. Taste is a little nutty, roasted malt, a little watery. Leaves a medicinal nutty aftertaste. So-so lacing. novels (424) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Not as bad as the ratings imply, this brown ale was fairly tasty. A nice malt medley, some interesting notes of roasted nuts, hay, caramel, with some interesting flavors. Not a whole lot on the nose, but I’ve yet to meet a brown ale that nails that aspect in particular. Would drink again, but not very often. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Speckled amber with a creamy brown crown that slowly fades away. Aroma of toffee, caramel and mild nuts. Taste is chalky and bitter with caramel, mild nuts and a metallic and somewhat medicinal finish. ccex (1327) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 29, 2012
12 oz. bottle pours an amber/brown color with moderate off-white head and a little lacing. Smell reminds me of a taxidermist’s shop. Aroma is mostly caramel malts and sugar, without the roasted malts or nuttiness I expected in a brown ale, but with hints of tobacco and raisins. Flavor is chemical, with slight hoppy bitterness and alcohol in the (thankfully) short finish. Body is medium, with too much carbonation for my taste. Probably the worst brown ale I’ve tried. At least I only got one of these in a make-your-own 6 pack. Patrickctenchi (6629) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Pours cloudy tea with a weak, soapy head.
Scent is light, caramel and nuts.
Taste is a vague alcohol bitter over stale wooden notes.
Like a cheap lager in a brown suit.
