COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If there were ever a beer that so quintessentially captures the spirit of the primordial past on planet Earth, it has to be the Hop Nest Monster. Bursting with the aroma of the American Amarillo hop, like the eruption of a great and tempestuous volcano, the Monster makes a bold and intimidating impression even before it reaches the palate. As an all-malt American IPA, over an entire pound per barrel of fragrant and floral Amarillo hops are added to the brew kettle during the final minutes of the boil. This process is known as late-kettle hopping.

I’m not sure why this isn’t rated much higher. Typical ipa aroma. Big brutal nastie nellie tasting of a double ipa brew. Strong nasty terrible kick you in the back of the throat impact with each slug. Purposely prime eevil kahneevle. My taste buds on the side of my tongue seem to be warming and numb. Lots of sediment on the bottom of this bottle. If you like ipa, you gotta try this. Oily mouth coating finish. One of the rudest ipa I’ve had lately. Difficult. Wew. Gosh.

Poured golden hazy color with nice creamy head. Had great citrus pineapple aroma. This beer had awesome creamy texture and sweet pineapple citrus flavor. I’m surprised at lower ratings for this brew. I purchased only one but could easily drink 4 or 5. Overall excellent beer and would purchase again!

UPDATED: APR 12, 2013 Tried to pour "bottle conditioned style" but had a hazy dark yellow chunky pour.- good head with nice lacing.Yeast is really breaking up and carbonating heavily. Aroma is tart slight sour- olive ,mild le mon orange fruit /spice with some sweet bread. Chaulking this up to being old or poorly stored so far.Serious B-vitamins going on here. Taste is full bodied ,wheaty bready, soft, herbal, tart somewhat sweet, with a herbal bitter.Overall taste is not that good. Im guessing this is old,it kinda sucks. I almost want to dump this. Not quite dumpable really. There are some good qualitys to this ipa,but the bad ones seem to dominate, and that probably doesnt even really make furkin sense. This beer seemed to try to hard to be real like the loc ness monster. Its reall allright but just a piece of wood floating in the water that looked like a hoppy sea animal. ?

Golden with one finger head. Moderately hoppy, but maybe not as much as the name might imply. Not a lot going on other than the hops.

Poured cloudy amber with a pillowy white head. Aroma was a little off and the first couple of sips didn’t really appeal to me or my taste but after getting Into this beer, I discovered an underlying sweetness that was wasn’t there before. I like a bigger hop feel and taste but this beer was ok.

hazy (a bit chunky) golden with a pillowy white head. Not a great aroma, kind if a metal and floral scent. Malty with slight citrus hop taste and pretty strong floral hop. It’s not bad, but something is lacking.

Grapefruit , mild caramel, and grain aroma. Golden, copper with white head, and mild lacing. Grapefruit , alcohol, mild grain and caramel flavor. Strong bitterness and lingering bite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy orange tan with some sediment floating and a small white head. Aroma is sharp, resiny hops. The flavor is a harsh medicinal hops kick and a light grain malt flavor. Palate is best described as chalky and the finish is a sour bitterness. Didn’t enjoy this one.
