Lilja’s Pulling Boat Pale Ale is hand-crafted using a variety of choice American two-row malted barley and Cascade hops grown in the Yakima Valley of Washington State. Under strictly controlled conditions, the boiling wort is force-cooled and fermented using a selected and pure strain of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae, a top-fermenting brewing yeast. After several days of fermentation at 66-68 degrees Fahrenheit, the wort is now ale. Before bottling, the ale is filtered and cold-conditioned to insure quality and freshness.

12 oz bottle. Poured a cloudy golden color, significant off-white head. Aroma was slightly hoppy, some citrus notes. Flavor was mediocre, it was somewhat hoppy but not enough for me. Quite a bit of malt flavor, which seemed unbalanced for an APA. Not terrible, but I wouldn’t try it again.

355ml bottle. Hazed amber pour. Smell is pure malt and oxidized, the beer is old. Purchased at Binny’s Lincoln Park. They strike again with another out of date beer in the mix six. Clean it up vav. Flavor is basic, slightly pickly, no hops, just stale malt.

hotstuff (5257) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 22, 2014
Rated on 10-28-2010. This bottled beer has a small fizzy white head with a short retention, hazy yellow golden body, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The is caramel malt, grain, citrus, and pine hops. The taste is semi-sweet, caramel malt, grainy, citrus and pine hops. The mouth feel is lively and this beer is medium bodied. This beer is easy drinking but does not enjoy a lot of character and not a beer I will drink again.

Pours yellow amber. Thin head. Slightly too bitter for the style. Very hoppy. Drinkable but not well balanced.

Poured from a 12oz bottle at northside cafe. Orange with white head. Kind of a rotten fruit taste. Slightly bitter. Average pale ale

12 oz bottle. (Friar Tuck) Springfield, IL.
Clear orange golden colour with a small white head. The aroma is very sweet with some mild hops and lots of caramel maltiness. The flavour is also sweet. There’s some bitterness, mild resiny hops and sweet maltiness. Very sweet APA.

bottle. Deep golden with small head. Bitter and medicinal. Yuck. Haven’t had much luck at all with this brewery. Someday I’ll learn.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a slightly cloudy dark orange with a half finger of off white head. Aroma of light citrus and floral hops. Taste is light bitter. Fkoral and citrus. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Drinkable but not super special.

12 oz bottle pours amber with a off white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus and pine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Onslow (1528) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - NOV 23, 2012
Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear copper color brew with off white head. Aroma of citrus and floral hops, barely detectable caramel malt. Taste is light malt at the very start then hops kick in, lemon citrus, a bit tart and dry in the finish. Solidly hoppy though the lemon overtone is a bit different. A little spice and tart fruit in the very finish. I think this is a solid APA, better than most.
