COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quickchange XPA is all about putting a big hop engine on a stripped down malt chassis. The delicate colour in the glass barely seems enough to support all those Mosaic, Galaxy and Citra alpha oils with their mango, guava, pineapple and lychee characters, but one sip should clear that misapprehension up.

On tap at Great Northern, Carlton North. Pours clear light gold with minimal head. Aroma is citrus, pine and surprisingly malty. Flavour is resinous pine with bitter marmalade. Taste is strongly bitter. Palate is reasonably full given the low carbonation. Overall a decent XPA style with plenty of character. Perhaps a tad bitter for session.

Pint on tap at Basement Brewhouse Bankstown. Crystal clear amber beer with thin white head. Hardly any carbonation. Aroma of malt and sweet lemon. Crisp and refreshing at first, flavour really develops later. Notes of earth and pine, a finish best described as 'sweet wood'. Excellent balance, bitter and sweet. Great easy-drinking ale.

330ml can. A pleasant easy drinking XPA with largely tropical fruity hops to the fore and a trace of pine needles. Decent biscuit malt bill to balance it out. Fruity bitterness. Amber appearance, average-sized white head.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2017 (On tap) Clear yellow golden, small white head. Nice fruity aroma. Light body. Well carbonated. Fruity floral foretaste. Modest biscuity malt. Decent hoppy bitter finish. Nice IPA.

On tap. Light and clear in a scooner glass. Smells of fresh citris and tropical fruits. Crisp, clean, light and fruity hops. Beautiful in simplicity. Great balance. Super easy drinking and nice on tap.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2017 Very light in the glass and with a low abv you would think it is not going to have much depth but the light malting really allows the more complex hops flavours to shine - unexpectedly in a pale ale.

A big and impressive NZ beer. Lots of up front things going on including the powerful hops and malts. Very nice.

Big herbaceous aroma, amber pour, white head. Good malt upfront with a big hop explosion with the mosaic and galaxy coming through. Big flavour for only 4.6%

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2017 330mL bottle from Craft Cartel. BB 15/3/2017 (15 months old now), sold as discounted old stock. This bottle was made before Panhead was sold to Lion. Appearance: Pale golden. White head immediately disintegrated into a ring. Aroma: Tropical hops. I’m estimating 7 for this because age has diminished the aroma. Taste: Initial taste is delightful tropical and grassy hops. Sits in between a APA and an IPA, without IPA bitterness. However the length is less than four seconds long. The abrupt finish is empty and lets the otherwise tasty beer down. Barely any malts as per the brewer’s aim, and that takes away too much structure. Mouthfeel: Thin body with overly high carbonation. Overall: Not bad. Would be great if the initial hoppy taste lasted longer. Suitable for introducing non-craft drinkers to craft.

W smaku lekkie, cytrusowe i orzeźwiające. Trochę nut trawiasto-ziołowych i delikatna, nie nachalna goryczka. Średnie wysycenie. Bardzo przyjemne piwo!
