COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Note: Says "Riserva" on label and has a red seal. Vintages begin from 2008.

Just like the Barriquée, the Riserva is ‘triple-fermented.’ Primary fermentation takes place in stainless steel. What sets the Riserva apart is the next step: 15-18 months spent in wine wooden vats, compared to the Barriquée’s 8-10 months; the wooden vats were used previously for Barbera (red wine), for maybe 150 years.
This adds an elegant wine-like quality and a dry, oaky character to the deep, earthy, sourness that the Barriquée is known for.

Rciesla (5607) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAR 17, 2010
Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. A sour cherry tone with a light woodiness and some vinous boozy whiskey or cognac tones. A vinous mildly tart body with a light sour finish. A decent sour ale.

daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 16, 2010
Orangish pour. Mostly white head. Woody aroma with some red wine and tart aromas shining though. Flavor is tart, not too sour. A dry and yeasty component keeps it interesting.

( 750ml bottle 2008 vintage, batch 10, bottle #370) Pours cloudy orange-brown with nose of tart cherries, wet barrel, cognac and funk. Taste of cognac, tart cherries and wood. Complex and extremely smooth. Not as sour as I expected, but this is very drinkable regardless.

BMan1113VR (7929) - Los Angeles, California, USA - FEB 12, 2010
Batch #10 bottle #370 2008 thanks to thirdeye11. Pours with a large, off-white head over a hazy amber body. Aroma is musty, acidic, attic, wood, alcohol, wine and brandy barrels. A bit of sourdough bread and raw pasta as it warms. Taste is not super sour. Some metallic notes. Light acid. Not nearly as elegant or acidic as the regular Barriquee in my opinion. Kind of faded and mellow. Light to medium carbonation.
