Note: Says "Riserva" on label and has a red seal. Vintages begin from 2008.

Just like the Barriquée, the Riserva is ‘triple-fermented.’ Primary fermentation takes place in stainless steel. What sets the Riserva apart is the next step: 15-18 months spent in wine wooden vats, compared to the Barriquée’s 8-10 months; the wooden vats were used previously for Barbera (red wine), for maybe 150 years.
This adds an elegant wine-like quality and a dry, oaky character to the deep, earthy, sourness that the Barriquée is known for.

The aroma is nicely sour with subtle smoke hints. Beautiful reddish brown color. Tastes wonderfully sour with tart cherry and raspberry flavors that pucker nicely. Overall a very nice beer.

DocLock (10970) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 4, 2015
Bottle from Whole Foods PM. Turbid reddish brown pour with tan head. Nose was oaky wood, tannins, vinous fruit, berries, yeasty funk. Tasted very fruity, with mild tartness, woody notes, and some yeasty finishing notes. Complex as hell.

Batch 8 bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is sour fruit and funk. Thin mouthfeel with light funk, oak, vinous, light dryness, very good.

Bottle pour. Batch #18, bottle number 1773. What a gem I ran into here. Always loved sours so I thought this was a safe bet. Pours a cloudy brown color with a woody, sour cherry and grape aroma. Tart apple, cherry and oak flavor with a good medium body. So much sour flavor going on. Exactly what I love about sours is in this beer. Fantastic. Loved it.

Getbetter (1033) - East Palo Alto, California, USA - JAN 22, 2015
From a bottle into a sniffer. The pour is a red brown with a medium body and white head. A strong berry aroma with a sour red wine taste which is great. Would have again.

Bottle; I think it was batch 18. Poured a dark auburn color with a small off white head. Aroma of sour fruit, funk, oak, wine; fairly dry aroma. Balanced flavor. Some fruit, oak, caramel, funk, earth and vinegar. Sour, but mildly so. Wine like qualities. An accessible, and good, sour.

Erzengel (9338) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - OCT 24, 2014
Smooth, mild. Slightly sour. Nice, but not too deep. Fresh, lots of wood with fruity-woody aroma. 12/13/12/12
