(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fiulijn. Slightly hazy pale golden with a creamy, white head. Lightly tart, citrusy aroma. Light and somewhat watery body with a vague, fruity sweetness and a spicy touch. Absolutely no bitterness. 301107 chriso (21656) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2009
Bottle, April 2008 tasting. Very cloudy appearance - obviously I’d expect a Belgian style Wit to be hazy but this was more sludgy. Despite Phil L’s protestations, I didn’t really find anything to suggest that this was over the hill. I would probably expect more spice and less farmyard funk from a Wit, but funk isn’t a problem for me (even if it is not supposed to be there). Not as arresting or distinctive as some of Panil’s other offerings but interesting, and certainly not unpleasant, nonetheless.
