On tap at Papago, pours an opaque orange amber with a small white head. Aroma and flavour brings out sweet candied sugar, Belgian yeast and harsh alcohol. Messy and rather harsh; not at all an ale of refinement or complexity. Meh.

Taster... Light hazy brown with little head. Lots of cider notes on the nose and palate... Spicy apple finish, like a sour mulled cider...

Shared 11.2 oz., grenade-like bottles brought back by tasting friend from AZ., poured to snifters showing a cloudy, amber hue, with a modest layer of bubbly, soft white head foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was pit fruit as apricot, a slight hint of banana, some spice, sweetness, and soft malt. The taste, on the other hand, was highly candy-like, and under attenuated sweetness, some modest, earthy bitterness, and boozy warmth. Light to medium bodied, with fair carbonation. Headed in the right direction, but the hefty sweetness spoiled it a bit for me.

11.2 bottle. Tan reddish brown, some lacing. Toffee and malt nose. Medium rich flavors of sweet dark fruits, beautiful Belgian yeasts. Well blended with clean finish. More of a Abbey style than a Triple to me.

Pint on tap. Looks like a tripel almost, nice bubbly head, OK adhesion, persistent, translucent beer--wow it’s actually very lightly carbonated, caught me off guard. Taste is slightly sweet, moderately sour, with some earthy/wild notes. I’m disappointed overall, $7 is too expensive for this beer. Palate is pleasant enough, plenty long and approachable. Decent beer, but weak taste and complexity for a Belgian strong ale. Glad I tried it nonetheless, a belgo-american collaboration that didn’t quite pan out.

A hazed amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a sweet vanilla malt fruity esters, light spices, light alcohol. In mouth, sweet fruity malt with coriander, curacao, loads of alcohol, not bad.

Tap at Papago. Pours low haze orange. No foam. Nose is odd pickled orange peel, cinnamon, sweet relish. Salty apple chutney. Strange. Taste is watery, medicinal orange finish. Palate weak, hints of sweet cinnamon relish. Dry mouthfeel.

Draft @ Papago. Clearish golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma of earthy Belgian yeast, sugar, spice and fruit. Flavor is sweet sugary malt, zesty spice and light alcohol warming. Medium body with some residual sugar. Good for the style, a bit on the sweet side.

A draft of this poured at Papago Brewing. Orange and clear pour. Floaral and citrus but pungent. Not my style. The Belgium taste is overwhelming.

On tap at Papago Brewing, but brewed in Belgium. Comes a hazy dark orange with a nice off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, grain, and spice. Taste is oranges, apricots, malt, coriander, yeast, and florals. Somewhat sweet. Very nice.
