Growler from Hellbilly, thanks! Very black with small chocolate head. Aroam of deeproasted malt, coffee, and some dark chocolate. The flavor was the same with lite sour bitter finish. Not bad,but I’d like just alittle more sweetness in there. rusty (1547) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - FEB 9, 2008
On tap at Papago Brewing.
Pours a nice dark brown with a decent sized head.
Smells like toasted barley, chocolate and coffee. Has a nice mouthfeel as well. Wow, the roasted barley or malt flavor really comes through on this one as well, very nice porter.

Growler, via hellbilly. Pours a very dark brown body, almost black with a small dark brown head that quickly vanished. It looks quite viscous, coating the glass with a gentle swirl, it almost has legs to it. The nose is strong on licorice and dark roasted coffee, chocolate, and just a hint of smoke. The flavor is very roasty and chocolaty with a great plummy fruitiness on the finish. Minimal bitterness even with the heavy roast. Long lingering roast and coffee finish. Mouthfeel is slightly oily and viscous. similar to coffee with lots of cream and sugar. Nice perfect soft fizzy carbonation. I’m really liking this one. Great depth and complexity to the flavor and one of the best domestic Baltic Porters I’ve had in terms of mouthfeel. I think they nailed this one. Poured from a growler thanx to Hellbilly. This was an above average porter.Had all the charachteristics of the chocolate, roastedness, coffee and slight bitterness, but it was more rich in flavor. They were more defined and was slightly creamy.Finished off average with some bitterness.Overall i was pretty good. jsquire (4599) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - JAN 18, 2008
Out of the growler. Dark beer with mahgonay hues when held against the light. Thin creamy brown head. Big roasty grain nose with some chocolate and smoke. Very roasty taste, with lightly burnt grains, dark chocolate, smoke, some vanilla, with a long dark toast finish. Very nice porter.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2008 Growler Swap 1.0 from hellbilly. Pours black with a brown foamy head that turns into a brown ring. Malty aroma of chocolate and roast with some sweet caramel malt in there as well. Flavor is layered and complex. Chocolate, roast, caramel and smoke all make an appearance. Finishes with a mix of crisp bitterness and lingering roast. A little alcohol peaks through as it warms, but it is insanely drinkable and tasty. More please. drseamus (103) - Troy, New York, USA - DEC 24, 2007
This poured very nice with a pretty decent dark mocha head on top of a very black body. It looks very thick and syrupy as it pours. The aroma is filled with a ton of coffee and some slight chocolate. Very inviting. The flavor is very chocolaty and then it fades into a blast of roasted malt that gets stronger as the beer warms. When it’s decently warm, the roastiness is overpowering. Great body on this beer and pretty good drinkability.

Sampled on draught at the Papago Brewing Company tavern in Phoenix, AZ. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a creamy light tan head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of smoked dark toasted black malt, some flowery hops, dark chocolate and a touch of coffee. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of smoked dark roasted malt, some chocolate and flowery hops. Finish is slightly dry with a chocolate dark malt aftertaste. The smoked character is a nice touch. ajm (1072) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 12, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2008 A great dark beer with a caramel colored head and decent lacing. Rather dry, with just enough sweet chocolate to keep it a standard at Yard House Scottsdale. shadey (2152) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 10, 2007
September 2007. Growler acquired in trade. Pour is black and oily with a thin head of dark tan tiny bubbles that coat the glass in lace. Aroma is really nice. Very rich chocolate and coffee with really minimal bitterness. This is really attractive stuff. I want to dive in. The flavor is a rich blend of chocolate and mild roasty coffee. This is way beyond expectations. Delicious.
