GABF 2012, October 12, Friday. Light hops. Gold color, but primarily a pepper character standing out more than anything else. SuperDave (1932) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - SEP 13, 2011
Tap at Papago. Hazy deep orange color with a foamy head. Aroma is citrus hops and chiles. Flavor is bitter with a bit of heat on the finish. It is actually amazingly good, considering my low expectations. BOLTZ7555 (3027) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JUN 11, 2011
Gave this an extra point for the heat! Sampled at AZ Strong Beer Fest. Packed a punch with a 14 karat body, small ivory head that left some lacing. Aroma is bright citrus, moderate caramel, and heavy habanero! Ouch. The burn from this one lingers on the palate. Very unique brew but I wouldn’t consider it a thirst quencher. Unique and tasty. hellbilly (3249) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - MAY 24, 2011
Hop tamale 2/7
Hopago dry hopped with jalapeno and habanero.
Really mild peppery, faint citrus behind the ipa. 3.8
2/23 pap dinner. Lots of hop aroma and lots of spicey heat. Burn lingers for quite a while. Much better as a pepper beer than before 4.0 dcschiller (2208) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 5, 2011
(On draught at papago). Pours a hazy orange-red color with off-white head. Aroma has dried red chili and some adobo sauce, florals from the hops are still there, but the chili is predominant smell. Taste is semi-sweet malt base with some hop bitterness and heat. Thinner bodied with a slightly bitter finish again with some heat. The chili is clearly there, but is provides a gentle heat. Nice treatment.

Incredible chili aroma. The IPA in the background stands up well to the hot green chili flavor. Easy to drink one, two would be difficult, not because it is bad but because of the sensory overload you would have. Color is deep golden. Can’t believe it had habeneros in it because even though it was hot, it was not out of control. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - FEB 22, 2011
On tap; poured a golden amber color. Aroma of peppers, earth, vegetables. Unlike the other rates, it was too peppery hot for me. Just don’t like drinking that flavor. Not bad, just not for me. dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 17, 2011
Cask @ Papago. Pour is amber with an off-white head. Aroma shows notes of caramel, light citrus, and waxy peppers. Flavor shows the same. We are convinced that the peppers were thrown in whole due to the restrained heat and waxiness. Overall body is moderate, with light bitterness and some nice depth added from the peppers without
being too distracting. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 10, 2011
Amber pour. Big white head. Aroma of jalapeño, caramel, light hops. Flavor is caramel, peppers, hops, juicy and hints of peppers without being spicy. nbutler11 (1267) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2011
On cask at Papago. Amber pour with a frothy off-white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Smells and tastes of hops and waxy banana peppers. Floral in the nose and almost juicy on the palate with a note of caramel in the malt. The peppers (no one could tell me which they actually used) are subtle and actually make sense in this beer. Nice.
