Rich muddied brown coloured body with a light tan glow on top, not really a head, with large bubbles. Aroma of super sour grapes, alcohol, apple cider, light spices, brett, funk and a lot of sugars - nice. Medium-bodied; Assertive sour notes at first with grapes, figs, apples, pears and gueuze all noticeable along with some light spices and some good malt notes. Aftertaste shows some depth with a great balance of sour notes, malt, yeast and some light bits of hops as well. Overall, a nicely sour beer with a solid complexity and a nice rounded flavour showing the sour notes up front and some spicey, yeastie, malty and especially sweet notes throughout. A great sour/wild beer to sample for a very reasonable price. Definitely worth buying if you can get your hands on a bottle of this! I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Super Liqour Mart in Denver, Colorado on 06-June-2014 for US$6,99 sampled at home in Washington on 24-December-2014, Christmas Eve 2014.

16.9 oz bottle at the Crow Bar. Pours a murky brown/red with a small ring of a head. The nose is pretty tropical with notes of grass, grapefruit, pineapple, brown sugar and tart fruits. The carbonation is pretty low. The hops are citrusy, and work pretty well here. This beer isn’t outright sour, but fairly tart with lots of fruity hints. There are suggestions of figs, brown sugar and strangely, no real wine barrel character. The flavors are a little muddled, but nothing is offputting. Decent beer, but flavor-wise, not worth the price tag.
