COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We never saw the point of sucking up to Santa all year long for a couple of measly presents. If drinking this hoppy, toasted malt CDA puts us on the naughty list, where do we sign up?

Pours deep, dark black, almost opaque. Thin, foamy tan head, low retention and no lacing. Aroma is pine, resin, molasses, and fresh roasted coffee. Taste is bitter, resinous, and earthy. Finishes bitter, roasty and lingering. Body is medium, texture is slightly oily, carbonation is soft. Pretty good. Im happy to see this style slowly become more common.

Aroma is clove, citrus, caramel, roasted malts and caramel. Taste is similar to aroma with some added bitterness that is fairly well balanced. Appearance is a black body with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

Noir avec un col moyen beige/marron. Larme du chocolat, mme un peu de vanille, et houblon un peu floral mais surtout du pin. Le got est du chocolat et malt torrfi. Cest super bien quilibr avec dhoublon centennial.

Pours a deep, dark black with a thin beige head. The nose is a bit floral and herbal with a metallic note and a moderate roasted malt and hints of toffee and nuts. A bit sweet and a bit malty with toffee and chocolate. The finish has a bit of bitterness and a nice lingering hop flavour profile. Overall a great little brew with some nice flavours.

Bottle - Roasty and sweet piney hops. Deep jet brown black with a rich light brown head. Roast and chocolate with some nice bitterness and hops in the finish. Decent.

341ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger of off-white head that leaves spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is light roasted grains with some grapefruit and pine. Taste is a grapefruit and pine hop bitterness with a light chocolate malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with good carbonation. A nicely done black IPA that needs to be sampled.

Fruity citrus aroma, dark malts give some coffee flavours, viscosity is medium, a nice standard black IPA but missing that hop profile where you can pick out special flavours. Quite good, though.

mcberko (16215) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 30, 2012
650mL bottle, pours near-black with a small beige head. Aroma of light roast, caramel malt and some mild hop presence. Flavour brings out dry coffee, light roast, some woody hops and a bit of caramel. Quite dry and well-balanced, but lacking much depth or oomph. Solid stuff.
