A solid ruby ale. Great mouthfeel, decent aroma, and not too hoppy. I love the branding too. Parallel 49 brews stellar beer, but has some of the best branding in the industry. Papillon (400) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 21, 2013
341 mL Bottle. Amber body with a small frothy off-white head leaving lots of stringy lace. The aroma is sweet light malts with subtle hints of vanilla and caramel, and grapefruit-resiny hops. Sweet light malts and crystal malt dominate, then there is an astringent / spicy aftertaste and a piquant part that I absolutely love. and then shades of the crystal malt and hops merge in the finish. Gorgeous! Bonus points for a very one-of-kind-mouthfeel. greenflower (7) - - APR 7, 2016 does not count
Fruity floral aroma, beautiful color. Smooth, lovely flavor with a touch of hops. Fabulous beer! ? Brewmetheus (13) - Alberta, CANADA - FEB 15, 2015
Had it on tap, light refreshing with a moderate amount of hopps. A decent well balanced new style ale. BeerAndPonies (171) - Medicine Hat, Alberta, CANADA - APR 1, 2015
341 ml bottle from a Parallel 49 sampler six-pack from Liquor Depot, served in a straight-sided goblet. Pours a deep ruby red hue with a light tan cap that leaves some lacing. Aroma is deep with vinous and citrus hops, moderately sweet, with plenty of spiced dark fruit and berries, and a backing of malt toastiness; flavor is just as vast and has citrus, then vinous, fruitiness, and spiced toastiness. Moderately chewy body, very pleasant aftertaste. A truly luscious red ale, and I do love my red ales.

On tap. Pours a reddish brown with no head. Aromas of brown sugar pine/citrus of pacific northwest hops. Flavors are similar although more pronounced; toffee/brown sugar and lemons/oranges with roast malts. Good balance with these hops. Very nice. stantheman (1050) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 27, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2014 On tap at Sunset Grill in Kitsilano. A nice dark amber color. Very prominent hops up front. A bit of malt backing. Nice one.

And more recently on tap at Oscar’s Pub in East Van. Served in a P49 signature sleeve. Satisfying malts with a prominent hop note. Still a nice one!
And July 12, 2014 on tap at Earl’s in Yaletown in Vancouver. A murky dark brown beer, with generous light tan head, served in an absolutely massively heavy glass sleeve. still a magnificent balance of crisp hops and warming malts. 3.9.

Bottle from the LCBO. Smells like bread malt with some spice and piney hop notes. Taste has brown sugar, caramel malt, with a mild bitter orange peel finish. Tasty stuff. RowBeer (1) - CANADA - APR 11, 2015 does not count
I really liked this beer. Nicely hopped with a malty side to it. Good colour. I will definitely try more beers from Parallel 49.
