beerplace (1801) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 9, 2016
On twp at the brewery. Pours an opaque dark brown with a weak head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate notes and some bakery spices. Taste is slightly sweet with some appropriate cinamone and roasted malt notes. Same character aftertaste. Very good for what it is.

Visual: Pours jet back without almost no head, very thin ringed retention, clusters of steady micro streams along the perimeter. Nose: soy sauce, roasted caramel malts. (lvl-5)-pungency Attack: crisp-half slick-tingly Mid-palate: (lvl-6)-sweetness, (MAIN) chocolate, cola, caramel barley malt, pumpkin, vanilla, cinnamon. Finish: background light sour-tangy, light burpy, residual malty, light roasty exhale finish. Summary: Mainly tastes of chocolate and caramel malty with some pumpkin and very subtle spiced flavourings. Pretty clean overall but somewhat lacking in creamy mouthfeel and the mid-palate lacks length, good finish however.

Hard to go wrong with chocolate and pumpkin. Chocolaty and pumpkiny with some nutty, toasty notes.

Bottle. Dark, nearly black pour with a dense tan head. Aroma is malty chocolate with slight pumpkin spice notes. Flavour is much the same, malty and roasty chocolate with some coffee notes and pumpkin taking a back seat. I like the richness, but I feel this would have made a much better plain Porter than a pumpkin beer.

northropfrye (3653) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 8, 2015
Dark brown body, brown head, nice fluffy head, good lacing. Cocoa and lactose on the aroma, but could be more pronounced. Taste is sweet, a hint of dark chocolate, some pumpkin spice, lactose. Palate is a bit thin for a porter. Overall quite nice.

Bottle:   Dark brown, nearly black, thin beige head, little lacing.   Soft roasted malts, even softer spices.   Tangy roastiness up front, a little dark chocolate, some minor dark pitted fruit, seems to almost to be getting a touch sour.   Not sure on the Pumpkin tho.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Finishes quick, tangy dark chocolate and dark pitted fruit.   Some sweet roastiness.   Decent beer, not as complex or bright as I expected, nor as spicy.   However, its decent.   Thanks Mike!

magsinva (1413) - Virginia, USA - MAY 15, 2015
Bottle - not my favorite porter, if I’m honest, the chocolate and pumpkin combo makes for a muddy result in this case.

thb (831) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 6, 2015
Slightly viscous impenetrable black without head. Aroma is (surprise!) chocolate and pumpkin spices. Taste is a little muddy. i like the pumpkin with the porter, and i like the chocolate with the porter, put all together it’s not as good. The beer itself is drowned out.

Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 29, 2014
Pours thick unclear black with almost no head. Aroma brings straight baked pumpkin pie crust and some light sweet pumpkin notes. Flavor brings creamy pumpkin spice with a lighter body.
