An aggressive, tropical NZ hopped aroma gives way to the rich, copper coloured malt base and a huge lingering bitterness to finish. In an ode to its ancestors, we’ve used all English malts in the grist and a bold English bittering hop in the boil.

500ml bottle pours a pale copper color with a bit of head. Stone fruit hop flavors. A little yeasty.

Looks very nice in the glass. Nose is fruit and caramel. I can taste some caramel and pine resin. Little grapefruit and faint earthiness from the green hops. Nice "oily" mouth-feel. It is a great IPA.

50ml bottle Hazy amber with Ok head. Aroma is grapefruit/pine with malt base. Taste is the same with medium bitterness. OK

Cantabrian (1170) - Christchurch NZ, now Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 5, 2017
Super beautiful aroma of tropical fruits and a stone fruit sweetness. Perfect copper colour, with a creamy head. Taste follows the aroma, with that mellow, almost syrupy background and pine needles after the cocktail of tropical fruits and a resinous feel in the mouth. One of the most excellent NZ IPAs.

Hoponmate (309) - NEW ZEALAND - OCT 8, 2016
Sweet IPA mostly pine resin so quite sweet and maple sweetness. A little bitter but not overly.

330ml bottle (exp 19/1/17) purchased from First Choice Liquor in Cairns. Pours hazy deep amber with a decent sized off-white head showing good retention and lace. I get fresh pine needles, bitter blood oranges, grapefruit, and a hint of earthiness on the nose and tongue balanced by a mild biscuit malt base. Palate is certainly hop forward and bitter with the earthy and bitter citrus notes coming through at the very end. Medium bodied with an oily texture and average carbonation. One of the best Australasian IPAs out there.

Keg at magic Rock .. Copper . Thin white lacing... Soft sweet herbal toffee fruit nose.... Dark toffee malts

KeefOz (2026) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - SEP 17, 2016
Poured a clouded coppery-amber colour with a one- to two-finger off-white frothy head that retained very well and laced OK. Carbonation low, soft and medium. Aroma dominated by nice strong pine with caramel malt undertones. Taste of pine and slight grapefruit with caramel/toffee notes; nicely hops-driven. Light to medium body. Crisp and slightly dry with a lingering bitterness on the finish. Nice.

330ml bottle. Aroma is all pine and bubblegum hops. Flavour is the same. Pleasantly bitter with some interesting flavour on the way.

TuiSamesi (18) - NEW ZEALAND - AUG 30, 2016
Suffers from excess hopping and nowhere as good as a cold Tui East India Pale Ale.
