UPDATED: JUL 1, 2017 Massive pine aroma in a copper pour. Hop forward balance with a resiny fruity caramel body and sustained bitter finish. An excellent local (NZ) example of the style (WCIPA).
Very good IPA. Incredibly dry on the initial sip, but that's followed by a hop explosion, expertly delivered. Would go out of my way to drink again (including on draft). DamMag (5) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 11, 2017 does not count
A good, solid old school IPA.
Pours a hazy, light amber with a lasting moderate head.
Aroma of resinous pine and floral, fruity, citrus hops with a bready, caramel backbone.
Taste as per aroma.
Medium body with a resinous, oily texture. Average carbonation. Moderately high bitterness that lingers into the finish.
Makes a change from the modern IPA that is all late hops with little malt to get in the way of the hops. If you like a bitter beer with the malt to back it up then this is the beer for you.

Bottle at home. Pours cloudy orange with firm white head that settles. Low carbonation. Aroma is luscious; melon, passion fruit, stone fruit dominate. Flavour is quite strongly resinous pine plus citrus and pineapple. Some nice light caramel nutty malts as well. Taste is strongly bitter, mainly on the front and mid palates with enough sweetness to balance. Palate is full, smooth and oily with noticeable alcohol lift. Overall a great IPA. Above-average IPA in a sea of IPAs, without doing anything outstanding. In a row of identical houses, this one at least has a cool garden.

From a bottle. A pretty decent example of the style, maltier than most, dangerously drinkable.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2017 This is a well made super smooth beer. Pours a clear copper with a decent dirty head and lacing. It has as a beautiful nose of pungent yeast, hops and malt with some fruit sweetness. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Some syrupy texture. Fruity sweetness and upfront hoppy biterness with a honey undertone. The bitterness is very pleasing almost exquisite as it creeps through the palate to a long backend. This is a real treat and the real deal. Bule (2256) - California, USA - FEB 24, 2017
500ml bottle pours a pale copper color with a bit of head. Stone fruit hop flavors. A little yeasty.

Hazy amber with Ok head.
Aroma is grapefruit/pine with malt base.
Taste is the same with medium bitterness.

Super beautiful aroma of tropical fruits and a stone fruit sweetness. Perfect copper colour, with a creamy head. Taste follows the aroma, with that mellow, almost syrupy background and pine needles after the cocktail of tropical fruits and a resinous feel in the mouth. One of the most excellent NZ IPAs.
