Bottle from the brewery. Deep black, generous tan head. Leather and chocolate aroma, a touch of cinnamon. Slightly overcarbonated - presume down to the Brett. Leather, charcoal roast, roasted coffee beans, cacao, cherries, stone fruit, plums, slight vanilla. Very complex and enjoyable. thebeertourist (5188) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 28, 2014
Bottle from CASK, Pimlico. Black with a big, beige head. Intense dry chocolate aroma. In the mouth sour fruit, chocolate, spicy dryness. A present for Christmas. harrisoni (19695) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2014
Bottle at The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Black beer lasting tan head. Dark chocolate cherry aroma. Cherry dark bitter chocolate aroma. Lovely cherry like a chocolate liquer. The_Osprey (9823) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2014
Black with a big brown head. Smell - very bretty, lemon, slight coffee. Body is medium and carbonation low, quite foamy in the mouth. Taste - brett at the fore, some sweet caramel. I can’t really see past the brett. Considering this beer has been barrel aged and cherry and spices have been added, none of this has really seemed to have a major impact on the flavour. Tastes like a bretty-stout. Not bad. madmitch76 (26845) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2014

Opaque dark brown beer, very small pale tan head. Both the beer and the head have an unusual pinky - peach hue! Palate is light and dry with modest fine carbonation. Mild dark malts. A very complex tang resolves in to dark chocolate, dark fruits and a little cognac. Light spice and more tangy fruits, Light dry finish. Tasty and unusual and the best Christmas 2013 beer I’ve had so far!
Bottle picked at home in London - up from the brewery. Pours clear, rich brown with a creamy beige head. The nose has some dark berries, hints of doughy brown bread and tart cherries. Medium sweet flavor with some tangy cherries, milk chocolate, decent tang, some wet wood, earth. Medium to full bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Somewhat drying to finish, moderately tannic, plenty of tangy cherries, dusty cocoa, roasted malts. Lots going, for sure. Niclely balanced, though. Good complexity. Very solid. jackl (8594) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 1, 2014
Bottle. Deep reddish brown with a small head. Pleasant aroma. Cherry skin. Dark roasted grain, toffee. Somewhat buggy funk. The taste is sort of like minced pie. Spice, raisins, cherry. Bretty tang. Barrel. Medium body, moderate carbonation. A bit too much going own for its own good. Cool stuff though. planky84 (3591) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 26, 2013
Bottle from the brewery. Black pour with a rose coloured head. Aromas of cherry skins, sweet spice, raisin and strawberry. Sweet spice flavours with licorice, soy sauce, sultana and tobacco. Quite a nutty taste too. Spicy-sour warming finish. Interesting. teorn88 (8066) - Rimini, ITALY - DEC 23, 2013
33cl bottle from the brewery. It pours a deep ruby/brown colour with a large tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, cocoa beans, light wood, ginger bread. Taste is well balanced with roasted malts bitterness and coffee, alcohol and red berries sweetness. Smokey light acidic finish. Silky body with soft carbonation. Big bold Christmas brew. Bottle from the brewery via my mate Westy. Deep purple. Purple tinged, thin, tan head. Looks boss. Aroma is morello cherry, vanilla, dark chocolate, cherry crumble, cinnamon in there too. Taste is sweet, then sour, then dry and lightly bitter. Palate is full bodied, with an astringent, long, dry finish. Very Christmassy!
