Opaque dark brown - black beer with a good pale tan head. Smooth softish palate, semi dry. Soft dark malt cream. Light sourness and dark fruits. Whisper of smoke. Finishes soft and semi dry. Very light citrus at the finish. Nice - quite complex and pretty drinkable.
Bottle at home in London - sourced direct from the brewery. Pours rich, black-brown with a thick, luscious tan froth head that lasts for days. Roasted malts are the first hit on the nose, but next come notes of mild yeast, bread and tangy berries. Light to medium sweet flavor with tangy and leathery dark fruits, lightly bittersweet chocolate, burnt bread, tobacco, soft funk. Medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Incredibly dynamic to finish. You are at once smacked by robust roasted malts and all their chocolate, earth and ashy tobacco, then you get cleaned up by the tangy dark fruits, berries, decent funk. Wow. Everything really comes together here. Brings to mind the dark saisons I’ve tried from Hill Farmstead. This is hands down one of the best beers I’ve had from Partizan. Bottle at home, thanks to Leighton for obtaining, decorating break I - 02/11/13.
Pours an obscured light black meets extremely dark mahogony brown with a good sized coffee tan head.
Nose is straw, earthy, light cocoa, liqourice, dark malt, burnt toffee.
Taste comprises light roast, tangy citric lines, mineral bite, earthy, bitter orange, light soap, pinch of spice.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp refreshing finale.
Decent saison, a little soapy tickle in the flavour knocks this one down a nothc or too. harrisoni (19187) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2014
Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Black dark brown beer with a lasting tan head. Chocolate and lime/lemon on the aroma. But mostly chocolate but lovely chocolate. Again it’s just full and clean and fautless in the mouth. Roasty chocolate flavour. Hoppy chocolate lime. Strange but quite nice at the same time. chrisv10 (18222) - DENMARK - MAR 6, 2014
