Bottle at home in London - sourced direct from the brewery. Pours rich, black-brown with a thick, luscious tan froth head that lasts for days. Roasted malts are the first hit on the nose, but next come notes of mild yeast, bread and tangy berries. Light to medium sweet flavor with tangy and leathery dark fruits, lightly bittersweet chocolate, burnt bread, tobacco, soft funk. Medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Incredibly dynamic to finish. You are at once smacked by robust roasted malts and all their chocolate, earth and ashy tobacco, then you get cleaned up by the tangy dark fruits, berries, decent funk. Wow. Everything really comes together here. Brings to mind the dark saisons I’ve tried from Hill Farmstead. This is hands down one of the best beers I’ve had from Partizan. Bottle from the Partizan Brewery on 26 October. Poured pitch black (pretty much) with a thin, tan head. Aroma of roast malt, fruit cake and Belgian yeast. Flavours of black syrup, cherries and a herbal edge. Finish was burnt malt, charcoal and hop resin. Really interesting a well crafted beer. More dark saison, says I! renffisch (891) - london, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 6, 2013
Bottle @ cbsc shoreditch. Blackest black, smooth with a lively mouthfeel. Heavy roast notes with a lovely smokey bacon rind to top it off. Sweet! Ragnampiza (751) - Rome / Lecce, ITALY - JAN 6, 2014
330 ml bottle from Ales By Mail, served in a Teku. Bottled on 07-10-2013. Pours a dark brown colour, no light passing through, with a huge and persistently fluffy dark beige head. Great lacing retention. Looks pitch black in the glass. Less roasted/chocolaty aroma than I was expecting, with the earthy and spicey presence still dominating. Saison yeast notes, a bit of liquorice and just a hint of smoke/ash. Much more roasted in the mouth, with some vanilla and dark chocolate qualities. A bit of hops resin and pine needles as well. Glorious texture, with a velvety and luscious mouthfeel. Quite dry, medium body and lively carbonation. Damn fine! Mjp12 (1864) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 22, 2014
On keg at York tap, great floral flavours, and good levels of carbonation.

Bottle at Partizan. It pours deep brown/near black with a thick beige head. The nose is earthy, roast, toast, spice, coffee and liquorice. The taste is roasted malt, earth, cocoa, coffee, decent bitterness, black toffee, liquorice and hay with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation.
