Bottle at home in London - picked up at Borough Wines. Pours clear yellow, effervescent, with a large, frothy white head. Pale and lightly biscuity malts I the nose, some dough, orange merengue, lemon rind. Light sweet flavor with dry dough, straw, mellow citrus rind. Ligh bodied with average to lively carbonation. Finishes very clean and balanced with further dried and lightly doughy pale malts, suggestions of citrus fruits, straw. Delicious beer. Effortless to drink this one. Small shortlasting head. Aroma is fresh fruity, orange, hay, citrus peel, yeast, grass. Taste is fresh and grassy, hay, citrus peel, yeast, grass, citrus. Medium bitterness. Nice and fresh.
Bottle at Haand Festival 2012. It’s an unclear, orange-golden beer topped by a finger-thick, dense white head. The aroma has some wheat and pale malt, a good dash of citrus peel and Belgian saison yeast. Faintly spiced in the far back too, guess it’s the saison yeast adding some pepper.. The flavor has a balancing bitterness, it’s quite dry and pleasantly carbonated, with citrus peel, pale malts and a little peppery twist. Lasting fruity finish. A beer I’d certainly like to see as a regular. 130525
