(Damn - my notes disappeared when I had made my first rating.) On tap at Haand Beer Festival 2013, Drammen. Sampled before I had the barrel aged version. Appeared drier than the BA version, and lacks of course the oaky notes - otherwise it is much the same.

330ml bottle. Pours thick, deep black and looks like a stout should do. Strong cocoa and dark chocolate aroma, which comes through well, theres also treacle and brown sugar deep in the mix, dark fruit and the expected rich roast. It drinks so smoothly, hides the strength so well and reminds me why I love stouts when theyre like this.
