Taste: very fruity, some caramel, sweet malts, citrus notes and hops. Aftertaste: citrus fruits, bitterness, bit dry, candi sugar, alchol noticeable. Ending is a bit watery.
Dark red-brown colored with hazy appearance, medium sized light brown head. Fruity and sweet-caramelly aroma with some plummy note as well. Slight and warming alcohol note also comes up. Medium to ful bodied, medium carbonation. Flavor is also plummy and caramelly in start, thin roastiness, yeast and mild alcohol here too. Aftertaste is warming with some yeast still. sayravai (4711) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 22, 2010
(Bottled, BBE 18/08/2011) Clear dark red-brown (murky dark amber with yeast) with a small, but firm and lacy head. Grainy malt, lots of sweetish berries and dried fruit in the nose. Flavor is berry-grainy-malty with syrupy dried fruitiness and banana. Medium to full body, slightly fizzy-foamy carbonation. A flavorful, sweetish dessert beer. Maybe a bit rough on the edges without yeast, but quite enjoyable with it. This is what I think Bornem Dubbel (excellent at the time) tasted like years ago. 6436 thebeertourist (5188) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 16, 2010
Bottle from Achelse Kluis. Dark copper brown with a lacing, tan head. Intense dark fruit, dusty cellar and chocolate aroma. The fruity flavours hints towards raisins and nuts, and there are notes of chocolate as well. An abbey-style beer that even picks up the best of a biere de garde. Countbeer (6589) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 21, 2010
Very (!) big white foamy head disappears pretty quick into a small vast white foamy head.
Smell spices, malts, sugars, hint of yeast and just a hint of yellow fruit.
Color is dark amber reddish brown.
Taste is very fresh for a dark colored beer. Taste is a fine mix of spices, malts, hint of fruit, hint of alcohol, hint of hops and slight bitter even in the aftertaste that is fruity too.
Very well balanced! Taste more like a blonde beer.

Sweet, spiced aroma...a bit of banana up front. Deep orange with a tan head. Moderately sweet with a dry finish. A hint of banana and other spiced fruits that are hard to nail down; a nice subtle roastiness and alcohol tones as well. Smooth texture. Excellent! fonefan (52426) - VestJylland, DENMARK - FEB 26, 2010
