Sweet, spiced aroma...a bit of banana up front. Deep orange with a tan head. Moderately sweet with a dry finish. A hint of banana and other spiced fruits that are hard to nail down; a nice subtle roastiness and alcohol tones as well. Smooth texture. Excellent! thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 16, 2010
Bottle from Achelse Kluis. Dark copper brown with a lacing, tan head. Intense dark fruit, dusty cellar and chocolate aroma. The fruity flavours hints towards raisins and nuts, and there are notes of chocolate as well. An abbey-style beer that even picks up the best of a biere de garde. jbrus (4988) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - JAN 18, 2004

(Bottled, BBE 18/08/2011) Clear dark red-brown (murky dark amber with yeast) with a small, but firm and lacy head. Grainy malt, lots of sweetish berries and dried fruit in the nose. Flavor is berry-grainy-malty with syrupy dried fruitiness and banana. Medium to full body, slightly fizzy-foamy carbonation. A flavorful, sweetish dessert beer. Maybe a bit rough on the edges without yeast, but quite enjoyable with it. This is what I think Bornem Dubbel (excellent at the time) tasted like years ago. 6436 tderoeck (10195) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUL 17, 2011
