Not your typical porter, this is chocolaty, easy drinking, and slightly roasted with a touch of toast. Dont look for the coffee notes you are used to in porters, but rather a nice subtle balance between roast and malt that distinguish this brown porter from the more common robust porter and lend to a quaffable drink year round.

An average porter. A nice roasted aroma. Deep brown color with minimal lacing. The roasted malts I tasted are preferable to the heavy sour malts of some porters. I detected a slight earthy and chocolate tone as well. The palate was a little light. The uniqueness was not there.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong cocoa, licorice, dark fruit. Medium body, cocoa, roast, licorice, nice dry finish, very good.

Sampled at GABF 2015. In the tasting glass was dark brown. Beige foam. Nose of chocolate. . Medium in body. Flavor is roasted malts with chocolate mostly and some fruit in a bitter finish. But not too bitter. Nice drinking.

On tap at the brewery. Ive had this a few times and this batch seems like they finally got it down. Almost black in appearance with a beige head. Aroma and flavor of light chocolate, toasted grains, roasted malts and light coffee. Well rounded and easy to drink. Wow, a big improvement from what I remember this being.

There is just not much going on here. Hell, look at it's own description. It talks more about what you won't find in the beer than what you will. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2014 Poured from 16 oz can into pint glass. (Reviewed for a 2nd time after trading in bad beers for supposedly good ones). Appearance: pours with a 3/4" tan head that slowly recedes. Some mild lacing. Color is dark brown and completely opaque. Some carbonation bubbles clinging to sides of glass. Aroma: off flavor dominates (vinegar?) with a background of some chocolate, bread dough, and a hint of hops and yeast. Mouthfeel: unpleasant mouthfeel (infected?) with a sour, extremely astringent finish. Flavor: dominate flavor is an unpleasant off-putting astringency and vinegar. Behind that unpleasantness is some chocolate and roasted barley malt. The hops are hard to pick up because they get a bit lost in the bitter vinegar. Overall: I returned the first batch of this beer to the brewery, where they replaced it with beer that was supposedly not infected. It was. I had to drain pour the last two.

Brown pour, light brown head. Lightly toasty, roasted malt, plums, molasses, some chocolate and light cocoa notes. This is an underrated beer IMO.

Yogurt-y yeast, potato starch and magnesium hydroxide nose with hints of dried / stale chocolate. Faint diacetyl (butter and toffee). Plastic / smoke phenols. Medium body, low bitterness, sour and acidic taste with burnt chocolate squares and more milk / yogurt in the finish. Strong solvent in the mouth with sweat / isovaleric acid and higher alcohols in the finish. This is an abomination and if I were judging in BJCP Brown Porter 12A it would garner less than a 20.

Fuck it, lets boost this 16oz can of dumpster juice courtesy of NielsenRatings. Fucken A, bro. Pours a thinish looking dark brown with a slight head. Aromas of some light powdery chocolate, some light roast. No perceptible hop aroma. Taste is lightly ashy, medium bodied semi sweet garbage can drippings. Finishes on a note of dirty boxers and creamofsomeyoungguy. Meh. I like it.
