Tap at the Paulaner Bräuhaus Munich. Copper colour. Thin white head. Fresh floral aroma with fruits and wheat. Tastes like apricot and other fruits with a moderate amount of yeast. Definitely worth trying.

(Rating #3883)

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy golden, served with an enormous head. Nice bready and spicy nose. Some initial sweetness is quickly countered by spicy bitterness. Decent.

pivnizub (10811) - Bochum, Porř, GERMANY - AUG 14, 2011
On tap: Golden, hazy, big stable white fluffy head; pale-malty and fruity-yeasty nose, hops detectable, light bodied, spritzy; increasing - but still mild - hoppiness towards the grainy-yeasty finish. Average brew.....

My Bottom Line :
Oranges and various herbs come from this unfiltered lager’s hop personality, as banana esters dive into a dry finish.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sheet of foam hangs on to the misty orange. Nice head retention on this one.
-The effervescence is overzealous and gets in the way of the flavor profile somewhat..
-The flavor profile is subtle, yet this brew is not süffig. It is quite drinkable, but also forgettable.
-The mouthfeel needs work and the base malts deserve more room to express themselves.

On tap at the Paulaner Brauhaus in Munich.

A smooth, tasty Zwickel that goes down all too easy. This is probably the best beer I sampled at Paulaner Bräuhaus.

Nickls (2607) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - MAR 22, 2011
Tap at brewpub. Finger of white foam, cloudy orange-grapefruit hue. Nice hoppiness in the aroma. Very fresh, lightly bitter, some earth, dust, and yeastiness. Tasty and easy drinking.

Bierkrug (2129) - - DEC 5, 2010
Part of the Great Munich Beer Raid 2010. On tap at the Brewpub. Dark golden color with a full white head. Aroma is full of spices. Taste is also spicy and very nice. Palate is very smoth and it is nice to finally get the original.

SamGamgee (2585) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - NOV 7, 2010
Hazy gold with a lasting white head and lots of lace. Fresh and bready with some yeastyness. Some light spicy hops as well. Clean. Nice bready flavor with a light bright fruitiness and herbal hop flavor. A touch of fresh yeast. Medium light body with smooth carb. Great balance and very tasty flavors. Very nice lager.
