Pours a nice amber with a very generous dense head. Smell is of bananas, oranges and grapefruit. Taste is citrussy with some choclatey aftertaste. Very nice and very surprising. Marko (6519) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - MAR 16, 2005
Brought by a friend from Germany instead of the Salvator I ordered. I guess I got a better deal. What suprised me about this one is how similar it looked to a regular hefe. Same unfiltered apricot colour, maybe a bit darker hue. Anyway, strong banana aroma, big, rapidly disappearing white head. Sweet taste, bananas, a touch of lemon, and very, very lightly roasty. Not sure if it’s better than my favorite (Franziskaner Hefe), but it’s close. RateandPillage (426) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAR 15, 2005
Pours a cloudy brown color with big head. Wheat-banana aroma. Flavor not as big on the wheat as some others. I prefer more wheat in this style. Smooth, but seems to be missing something. haukur (2183) - Kópavogur, ICELAND - FEB 21, 2005
very cloudy, obvious caramel hint, heavily malty. This is actually a very nice dunkel but very very heavy ... floral nose, some bananas, caramel like I mentioned earlier, not something to gulp in a few sips ThomasE (5175) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 8, 2005
Cloudy brown colour with large off white head. Aroma has a wheaty sweetness and hints of banana and caramel. Flavor is malty with sweetness from caramel and banana. Nice thick palate.

brown and cloudy with a large head when initially poured. Aromas are caramel, toffee malts with nice fruitiness - bananas and lemon. Flavours are malty and slightly smoky. Yeast, cloves and bananas in there, too, along with a surprising citrus zestiness that livens the beer up. Another good Paulaner. BeerBlockaid (682) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JAN 5, 2005
Pint bottle poured into tall glass. Bremen, Germany. First round the barperson added lemons. hmm, well without lemons...poured light brown-gold with a nice fluffy head and great lacing. very very smooth, drinkable beer in my opinion. I REALLY ENJOED IT. nice smooth palate. Aroma is of bananas and toffe. Taste is the same with some added fruits and brown sugar. very well balanced. I need to stock this at home for the less complex nights. ßßß turbothy (1141) - Bonn, GERMANY - DEC 21, 2004
Pleasant yeasty flavour, not so much fruit as the other Paulaner weizen. Easy drinking and very quenching. dornoy (702) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 14, 2004
Long off-white lasting head, brown body, sweet aroma. The flavour is rather sweet but well-balanced, with a hint of fruits. A very well-made summer beer I’d say. DocLock (11301) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 9, 2004
Pours turbid brown with medium off-white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, hopcit, some banana, and cognac. Nice complexity and balance, with a fruity, citrusy, toffee finish. Very well made, as are all Paulalner beers, as far as I’m concerned.
