UPDATED: SEP 24, 2011 0.5 l bottle from Systembolaget. Pale colour with medium sized, foamy head. The aroma is malty (bready) with some yeast. The taste is somewhat sweet and malt dominated with a medium bitter finish. Tastes fresh. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with some fizz. Quite drinkable. 7/4/7/3/14

Re-rating 20110924. Light golden, clear liquid with small-medium white, foamy head that dissipates fast. Aroma is quite malty with notes of bread, hay, noble hops, grass and is a bit nutty. Taste is clean, very lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Very clean and balanced but still a bit malty. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Overall, well done and clean lager with no disturbing tastes. One of the better German oktoberfestbiers. 6/3/7/3/13

bought this mainly for the damn fine glass that i will be using quite a bit. and it is good to start the day with a litre of beer before the sun comes up. went really well with my chicken and rice as i watched the sun rise. had to pause halfway through to take a shit that required 5 flushes and a plunger- it will be a good day- i do not blame the beer for that, i blame last nights dead animal orgy i cooked up. pours a dark yellowand has the scent of caramel, and straw,. very mild flavor, a bit of sweet with a harsh metallic finish at first that smooths out as it gores. bready straw flavor throughout this. enjoyable balance between sweet and bitter. an easy drinker that has treated me well.

On tap, pours a clear golden with a decent white bubbly head. Aroma is thinly malty and a bit of honey, some corn. Taste is also a bit thin but not watery, flavors of light malt, hint of honey and caramel and bready yeasty taste. Overall quite drinkable. Good, maybe not great.

After seeing the thread about the rating split, I was able to correctly identify this at the store or else I never would have known... ha. Also, it was hard to miss the liter sized stein with the giant 1 L can of Paulaner Wiesn stuffed in it for a hefty $12.99, "commemorative pack" and I’m a sucker for that shit. Pour a robust clear glowing gold/copper with a medium tall frothy sudsy white head. I miss Oktoberfest beers... this year I think I’ll keep a case of Spaten in cold storage. Flavor is crisp, bitter noble hops, edgy, metallic, smooth but noticeable warming alcohol, has a maibock-like richness, not sticky though, just a bit rich, some light grassiness, bit of breadiness, just a hint of apple juice, faintly spicy. Smooth well attenuated, larger but quickly dissipating carbonation with just a slight sizzle, not sticky. Pretty good and drinkable. Flavors are clean but just slightly muted on the finish, fairly dry for style making for excellent drinkability.

Dont remember where or how...
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with a small foamy head. Short retention. Not much lacing.
Aroma : Malt, adjunct, light veggies. Some spices and light honey. A bit floral.
Taste : Adjunct, honey and a bit alcoholic. Carbonation quite fizzy.
Overall : Nothing really interesting...

12 oz bottle served in a tulip. Pour is shimmering gold with two inches of white head on top. Nose is honey, light caramel, malt, light hops, and an odd rain odor. Taste is very similar. This beer is very light and crisp, easy to drink, and makes for a fantastic session beer. The various tastes are all mellow, yet very distinctly separate on the pallet. This has to be one of the better Oktoberfest out there!

jaghana (6363) - Strasbourg (Alsace), FRANCE - AUG 29, 2010
Bottle 50cl. A yellow beer with medium carbonation and head. A very basic lager, should this beer have any specificity because of oktoberfest ? Classic lager, medium sweet, low body, less hopy, some bitterness at the finish, common, nothing more to say.

wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 27, 2010
from old notes Brilliant sparkling gold hue beneath a puffy white cloud. Honeyed, toasty malts have a grainy edge sharpened to a leafy edge. Thick malt flavor, grainy decoction traces, well balanced by firm hops and bright carbonation. Slick, sumptuous and well-attenuated; lifting carbonation.

Crisp, clean, delicious with deep golden malts.

50 cl bottle, best before July 2009.

Bottle. Light golg colour with a thin white head. Sweet aroma of malt. Malt flavour with a dry bitter aftertaste. Lively gas.
