UPDATED: AUG 26, 2010 Maß at Armbrustschützenzelt on 9-29-07. Pretty much the same aroma and appearance as Hofbräu and Spaten, but fuller malt flavor. Very tasty.

Rune (11653) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 2, 2007
330ml bottle picked up at a store in Trier. Clear golden body with two fingers of white foam. The fading foam left some lacing on the glass. Perfumed aroma of sweet grass. Malty sweetness in the direction of caramel and a light taste of fruit. Overall rather tasteless and too sweet. Disappointing (13.09.2007).

Keg (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Oktoberfest 2007) Sharp sour malt aroma. Slightly too fizzy, spoils the palate. Hasd a slightly plasticky taste, when warmed up actually tastes of something - a rather plain malt. Rating marked down in "overall" because the Paulaner website, which I used to try to verify which beer I’d had, completely sucks donkey cock.

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again.

ekstedt (6580) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 29, 2007
Bottle (50 cl) from Systembolaget. Clear golden with a creamy white head. Strong bready malt aroma, slightly honeyish, with faint grasy hops. Medium bodied with smooth mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit too much on the sweet side.

Grovlam (4208) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 25, 2007
Bottle. Large foamy white head that mostly lasted. Clear light sparkling body with a golden color. Good display of lacework. Very crispy and clear taste with notes of caramel, light fruit, nice smooth hoppy feel. Medium bodied with a light dry texture and an average carbonation. Well balanced light sweet and hint of bitterness. Sweet caramel like finish.

raymondwave (931) - FINLAND - SEP 23, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 30, 2007 (Bottle from Alko). Slightly darker than a basic lager with frothy head. Malty, sweetish, full, slightly hoppy and all the way smooth. I need to have another one of these, but it seemed a bit flat and uninteresting compared to Ayinger Oktoberfest. Still good and dangerously easy drinking for such a high alc vol..

I am a big fan of the Paulaner Hefe so I was really looking forward to this beer. Unfortunately, it was a thin watery brew that lacked any complexity. It was quite malty and had a slightly sweet then soapy finish. Not a great Oktoberfest.
