crossovert (13724) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2011
500ml bottle best before March ’12. It pours a nice looking dunkel reddish brown but the head is sudsy and dissipates immediately with no lacing. The smell is mostly grainy with some caramel and a hint of raisin. The taste is sweeter and surprisingly more bitter than most dunkels. It isn’t the perfect balance though. It is hinged upon more cloying-like sweetness and more flavorless bitterness instead of that sweet but subtle sweetness and balancing hop flavor that a good dunkel should exhibit. Nevertheless it isn’t bad, but it certainly could be more refined.

At Paulaner Bräuhaus in München. Poured brown in colour with off-white head. Roasted malts in aroma. Flavour lots of roasted malts, perhaps even some burnt notes as well. Aftertaste just a bit dark sweet bread.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear brown colour, creamy off white head. Aroma of chocolate malts, light roasted malts, bit of caramel. Flavour is light sweet, malty, chocolate, light roast, light dry bitter sweet finish. Light to medium bodied. Fine.

@ brewpub. Amber brown with lasting head. malty aroma is quite nice, a touch brassy. Soft palate. Very good dry-sweet, slightly metallic in a pleasant way with nice malt sugars and good drinkability.

Bottle @ Bayernhaus, KL. Thick sudsy head on a dark brown body. Rich dark malts prevail in the nose, a pumpernickel crust. Quaffable palate. The clean rich dark bready flavors are delicious and rich with some molasses. A delish bready beer fix.

0,5 l bottle, from Sorspecialista.hu, Budapest.
Clear brown one with a nice stable froathy tan-off white head. Aroma of sourish yeast with caramel and some toasted grains, mild fruity character. Medium bodied beer with caramel and toasted malt, light herbal hops. Correct one, but not so exciting.

inbirraveritas (1611) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 25, 2011
Bottle from „Sörspecialista”, Bp. Clear mahogany colour, fine pored and stabile head, which remains filmy. Sweet-sourish nose. Mouthfeel’s medium and the malty aroma is of caramel and light roasted malt with yeast and grassy hops. Taste’s sweet with a flavour of molasses and toffee balanced by spice in the sweet-roasty and dry finish, which leaves a sweet-bitter aftertaste behind. Adequately balanced, overall nice.

Great, spicy nose. Brilliant in a weis glass. Tall and light cloudy brown with a hint of yellow. 2 inch toffee head. Cool, refreshimg flavor with bready, sweet cream notes and a light banana and nutmeg finish. I don’t like dunkels but I like this one.
